Story
Gladys is a sweet, playful, and very curious girl. She was found as a 5-month-old stray roaming around a busy street in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and, luckily, a concerned tourist brought her into the shelter. We are grateful she hasn’t experienced street life for long. She is now an 8-month-old pup ready to be scooped up by her own people! Gladys loves attention, playing with other dogs, and going for walks. Her walking-on-a-leash skills need to improve, but she is a fast learner so she just needs to practice. She has a lot of energy and loves to go out for her walks and play with her mates at the shelter. She can be little shy initially, but she quickly warms up and is very friendly. She is food motivated, so it’s easy to get her attention where she responds with a wagging tail. Gladys gets along with other dogs and she was cat-tested in the shelter where she showed no interest and was even scared of them. The perfect home or apartment must have a secure, fenced-in yard, as being a puppy she could be a flight risk. Since Gladys is still a youngster, she needs to learn good manners and the rules of life. We strongly believe that each puppy should be enrolled in obedience training for continued socialization and learning, and to help create a well-mannered and well-balanced dog. Whether you’re a family of one or ten, Gladys would make an excellent addition to your life. She can be a single dog but also easily join your dog pack as she is very friendly and playful. Gladys is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, dewormed and microchipped. She has a chance to come to New York on January 11th if we find an adopter or foster for this beautiful girl! Interested in this sweet loving girl? Please complete the adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org, and we will happily get back to you. Gladys is ready and cannot wait to meet you!
