UPDATE!! Meet Spanky! This sweet boy was dumped and sadly hit by a car before the shelter was able to pick him up. He’s was transferred to our care and has been on medical hold for the last6 weeks. Sadly, he had a broken pelvis. He was on strict crate rest while he healed in his foster home. He’s done wonderful with recovery and is basically back to normal now.  He’s an adorable Schnazuer mix. He’s around 2 years old and 20 lbs. He is a sweet boy despite all he’s been through and will make a wonderful companion. He’s great with other dogs and is super loving. He will complete his vetting 3/11/25 and will then be adoption ready!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Story
UPDATE!! Meet Elfie! This little cutie came to us from a local overcrowded shelter. She’s a schnauzer mix of some sort we believe. She’s around 15 weeks old and 9 lbs. we believe she likely will top out in the 20ish lb range. She’s a super sweet girl who is great with kids and other animals. She will be adoption ready 3/14/25 after her second round of vaccines and she’s spayed. Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers.
