He is, without question, the King of Sleeping. If napping were an Olympic sport, Gary would bring home the gold, the silver, and probably a commemorative snack. When he’s awake, he transforms into a slow‑moving shadow who follows his human around with the dedication of a very mellow bodyguard. He loves short strolls outside where he can sniff the neighborhood news, feel the breeze, and pretend he’s still a spry young lad. Then he returns inside to resume his royal duties: couch snuggling, belly‑rub requesting, and gentle snoring. Gary has a few special senior quirks—he’s partially blind, partially deaf, a little wobbly, and needs eye drops and daily pain meds. Stairs are not his thing, but being carried like the tiny prince he is suits him just fine. He’s working on potty training and does well on a schedule, especially since he sleeps through the night like a champion. He’s friendly with everyone, polite with dogs, and happiest in a calm home where he can nap in peace and enjoy his favorite hobby: eating treats. All treats. Any treats. Every treat. Gary is a gentle, affectionate, easygoing old soul who just wants a soft place to land, a cozy lap to snooze on, and someone who appreciates the simple joys in life—like snacks, sunshine, and long, luxurious naps. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. Armani is a big-hearted Airedale Terrier mix with an even bigger personality. This lovable guy is still a puppy that's playful, curious, and ready to explore the world around him. He’s learning the ropes of indoor living and has already shown he’s a natural, happily lounging on the couch watching court tv or wandering the yard with ease. Armani has discovered the joy of toys, has been initiating cuddles nonstop with his foster family, and is eager to make friends with all the dogs and people he meets. Armani loves nothing more than praise and positive attention, making him an easy buddy to have around. Armani's currently working on his basic manners, including potty training, appropriate chewing, and keeping all four paws on the ground. Like many big pups, he hasn’t quite realized his size but would love nothing more than to climb right into your lap for a cuddle. When Armani really needs a nap or to play with his toys in peace, you can find him in his kennel lounging. At his core, Armani is just a big, happy lover looking for a home where he can keep learning, growing, and, most importantly, sharing all the affection he has to give. Armani is estimated to be 5 months old and 40 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. This little sweet ball of energy is looking for his forever home. Ajax is just settling in, he’s a lovable, brave, sweet boy. He’s ready to be on the go and also loves to just snuggle up on your lap. He appears to be a loyal companion and follows me everywhere. Ajax has met some new friends and hasn’t made strange with anyone. He’s not quite figured out how to play with his resident dog brother inside yet but they love running and chasing each other in the yard. Ajax is estimated to be 5 months old and 36 lbs. Welcome Jazz to CCPAL Rescue. Jazz is a 4-year-old Airedale/Irish Terrier Mix dog. She weighs about 70 pounds and has the scruffy terrier coat. She is not a big shedder and is very friendly. Jazz had an elderly man owner. Her owner is now in hospice so CCPAL was asked to step up for his 3 dogs. Jazz had some loss of hair and is now a health and beautiful dog, thanks to good nutrition and some wonderful vet care. She pulls on leash but is eager to walk and really very social with people. She is picky with her dog friends but hasn’t met a human she doesn’t like. Her previous owner is not doing well and the only option is for all 3 of these dogs to find a new forever home. They are well behaved and have some commands under their belt. Jazz knows sit and is decent on a leash. We do think she is potty trained as she doesn’t go in her kennel. She is very attentive and naturally bonds well with men. She wants to do what you ask and can be an only or go with other dogs. She is a stronger willed than the boy named Jett. She is a wonderful dog. She has lived in a home with two large males and did great. She would be a great companion for someone wanting a active companion that is less of a shedding dog. She is currently in Texas at the CCPAL. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200.
