Story
Meet Moose! A devoted four-and-a-half-old Schnauzer mix from Atlanta, GA, whose heart is as big as his adventurous spirit. With his black, wiry coat dusted with hints of silver, he’s a striking fellow who turns heads wherever he goes. But it’s his incredible loyalty, gentle nature, and impeccable manners that truly make him unforgettable. Moose is the kind of dog who makes you feel like you’ve won the canine jackpot! He’s well-trained, obedient, and has outstanding recall—so much so that he can confidently walk off-leash on trails and always comes back when called. Indoors, he’s equally well-mannered, patiently waiting for an invitation before hopping onto the couch for a cuddle. His intelligence and eagerness to please shine through in everything he does, whether it’s playing with his favorite squeaky toy, chasing after a rope, or happily trotting alongside his favorite person on a hike. When it comes to other dogs, Moose is polite and friendly, though he can be a bit shy at first. The same goes for meeting new people—he might take a moment to warm up, but once he does, he’s all about affection and companionship. He’s also gentle with children but because of his epilepsy a home without young children would be the best fit for him. While his seizures are infrequent (only four in the past two years), they require a calm and understanding environment. His future family should be aware that during a seizure, he needs space and time to recover without interference. While his seizures are very manageable for an adult, they do pose a safety concern for small children who could accidentally get hurt if they are nearby when a seizure starts. Moose thrives in the great outdoors and would love a home with space to explore. He’s experienced both indoor and outdoor living and is happiest when he has a canine companion if spending time outside. Most of all, he needs a loving and committed family who will provide him with the care, patience, and adventure he loves. If you’re looking for a loyal hiking buddy and a gentle soul to share your life with, Moose might just be your perfect match! Are you ready to welcome this extraordinary dog into your heart and home? Story
Sam is an adorable scruffy terrier that is affectionately known as a Snorkie (a Schnauzer /Yorki mix). Sam is about a year old and very smart as he knows sit and down and is already potty trained. This sweet boy was rescued from a high-kill shelter because we knew he needed more time to find the right home. When Sam arrived at Abandoned Pet Rescue, he wouldn't like anyone touch his back, but now he enjoys getting attention. Someone may have not been nice to him in the past, but he's quickly learning to trust again and he loves being told that he's a good boy. A home that will continue to build Sam's confidence and trust would be best. Sam has been friendly with other dogs at the shelter and we would do a meet and greet with your dog. To adopt Sam, please complete an application at AbandonedPetRescue.orgTo meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.
