Story
Skye could be that dream come true pup for retirees who enjoy spending their time with a gorgeous and active pup who is loving and engaging. There's no question that Skye would also do well with gentle, dog-loving older kids who enjoy the activity and snuggles that a sweet young dog brings to a family. Skye has been identified as a Schnauzer with Bearded Collie in the mix for that scruffy beauty and fun-loving personality. Farfel's can't swear to these breeds asTexas veterinarians made the determination..all we know is that this guy is sweet, loving and absolutely irresistible! Farfel's wants to make certain that Skye is handled kindly and with respect in his new life. He'll return that loving treatment a thousand times over with his loyalty and loving personality. This guy is as sweet as can be, silly, active and playful...and once comfortable in his environment is very entertaining in his antics and the love that he wants to show to everyone who is kind to him. Being a young and super-smart Schnauzer mix, Skye loves physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. He would be a natural in positive reinforcement / force- free group obedience classes. These classes are so important in bonding as well as teaching a dog the skills (in a very positive way) to understand boundaries and commands. This creates a well-behaved partner both at home and out in the community. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free / positive reinforcement trainers in your area. Skye may initially be a bit shy due to all the changes in his short life..but give him just a minute (a belly rub and yummy treats are wonderful) and he inches just a bit closer to a welcoming hug. Before you know it, he's gently loving you with a soft kiss. Skye's awesome Texas rescuers recognized all of this and knew that there was a Colorado home that would fall in love with this stunning guy and desire to make him a permanent and very important member of their family. At 10 months old and 40lbs, Skye is a perfect size for hiking the Colorado mountains, neighborhood walks (he's a very social guy) and backyard fun with his family..and then at the end of the day, sweet Skye would enjoy nothing more than a warm spot on the couch or bed next to his favorite people. Skye enjoys his relationships with other dogs as well and would have so much fun with another playful and sweet canine companion. Skye would do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with their pup. He'll be a committed and loving best friend..and would be overjoyed with the opportunity to come along and be part of the fun. He's so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure. It can be a visit with friends, a car ride or a vacation..all of these would speak to Skye's sweet temperament and love of his family. Farfel's isn't open to a home where family members spend their days working full-time outside of the home. We'd like Skye to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. Those who work from a home-based office would be perfect for this active and lovable guy. Skye will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition.A healthy and natural diet with a daily salmon oil supplement and periodic grooming (approximately every 10 weeks) will keep this guy's non-shedding coat cottony-soft, matte-free and very healthy. Skye has been fully vetted and vaccinated to fulfill Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy pets.He has also been neutered to stay true to our commitment to a euthanasia-free future in the canine population. Skye will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 3/4/2025. If interested in this active and very loving and devoted best friend, please fill out a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Applications can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Skye please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's adoption application. lease fill out a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Story
Rocket is a sweet Schnauzer mix that we rescued back in 2015 as a puppy - he will turn 10 years old this year. He loves to cuddle with us, and is mainly just a chill guy who wants to hang out and is fine doing nothing. He enjoys being outside, but everything he does he enjoys more when he’s near his adult humans. He loves to be with us. We recently had a child who is now a walking toddler, and for whatever reason, Rocket has not adjusted well to that and has shown to be defensive and aggressive towards him. He has not bitten him, but has growled and made advancements towards him - enough to make us concerned that we don’t want to risk anything. We have made the difficult decision to try to re-home. We want the best situation for all of us, and we think Rocket deserves to be in a home where he can get more attention and be put in less stressful situations (we are recommending a home without small children). Our house is just a little crazy now.

Story
Stella was saved from ACS- the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services euthanasia list. We were happy to bust her out for a new life in Colorado! Stella just recently entered our care so we are still learning more about her... more to come! Notes from ACS: "Dog displayed socialability by coming over for treats and affection with a loose wiggly body and wagging tail. Dog was easy to leash and walk outside to a play yard. Dog came over for affection with a wagging tail while in the play yard. Dog was easy to walk and return to kennel." Stella is now looking to get rescued again- this time by you, her adopter! Once a committed adopter or foster is found, we can schedule Stella on the next transport so she can put San Antonio, Texas in her rearview and head to Denver, Colorado! ##2282108##
