Story
Edgar is a 4-month-old Standard Schnauzer with a gorgeous black-and-silver coat, a sweet scruffy face, and famously giant feet he’s still growing into. He’s smart, affectionate, playful, and hilariously klutzy — a joyful, people-loving pup who wants to be involved in everything. He’s doing well with pottying on a schedule (but sometimes forgets to pee because play is LIFE), and he’s learning manners like polite mouthiness and not jumping. Edgar loves other dogs, plays gently with small pups, and would thrive in an active home with older kids and ideally another playful dog. He’s food motivated, already knows sit, and is ready to give his whole heart to his people. 💜 *** Go to www.pawsitiverestorations.com to learn all about our dogs, watch their silly videos, read our adoption process, and to submit an adoption application. Inquiries made on this site will not be seen! Visiting our website will answer all of your questions. Thank you! 🐶🐾

Story
Cosmo is a great example of why people love Schnauzers! Cosmo is 3 years old (such a great age..young enough to be a sponge that soaks up new information with a strong desire to please while being old enough to be past his babyish behaviors) and a perfect 33 lbs. This irresistible guy is a great medium size to accompany his family everywhere a well-behaved dog is welcome. He is a very sweet and loving guy. Cosmo is believed to be a Standard Schnauzer. We do not DNA test our rescue dogs, but he does have a cropped tail which makes us suspect that he could be a purebred. Of course we just cannot say for sure. Cosmo has a spirit about him that caught the attention of a compassionate Texas rescuer. She saved him from certain euthanasia at a scary high-kill shelter due to a lack of space, and fell in love with his sweetness and kind nature. She knew that Cosmo would be a natural companion for a Colorado family. While initially a bit shy, with some yummy treats and kindness, he absolutely blossoms. Cosmo's joy at spending time with kind and supportive dog-lovers is a joy to watch. He's filled with nothing but good-will and shares it with them 1000%. Since being released from the shelter, Cosmo has been enjoying backyard play, learning about leash skills and at day's end snuggling close. Farfel's Rescue feels that Cosmo would be a wonderful best friend for active dog-crazy retirees or a younger couple or individual that enjoys including a sweet fuzzy guy in their activities. Cosmo would be overjoyed with the time spent and togetherness, becoming a loyal best friend and a very important member of the family. Cosmo will also thrive with a family with dog-loving older kids who enjoy fun activities with their pup. They would be able to participate in positive reinforcement group training classes to teach Cosmo the skills to be able to accompany his family out in the community with excellent behavior. Farfel's will provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force free trainers in your area. Cosmo can be relied on, once confident in his surroundings, to share his love and best behavior with his humans. He is a devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to share time, play and learning new skills with a kind and committed family. We feel that a full-time workday outside of the home for his family won't work for Cosmo. He thrives on family-time and being at home alone while his people work full-time isn't in the best interest of this devoted companion. Cosmo will be very in-sync with a family that includes him in dog-friendly adventures, backyard fun, exploring the Colorado mountains or window shopping on Pearl Street to learn urban skills is perfect for Cosmo. A walk around the neighborhood socializing with neighbors would be an excellent way for this people-friendly pup to fine-tune his social as well as leash skills. Cosmo has a stunning and cottony-soft coat (appears to be non-shedding but we'll never swear to it) that will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and great nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are recommended for general longevity and coat care). With this regimen, Cosmos coat will always be cottony-soft, shining and gorgeous with excellent health. Cosmo is available for adoption now! Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet, silly and absolutely wonderful best friend. Adoption apps can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Cosmo please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Meet Sierra! Sierra is an adorable, 6 month old, 25 lb Schnoodle (Schnauzer / Poodle mix) who is ready to start her next chapter in Colorado. She is expected to be around 45 - 50 lbs when full grown. This sweet girl was found as a stray in Pampa, Texas. No one came looking for her, which is hard to believe given what an incredible puppy she is. Thankfully, Sierra now has a ticket to Colorado and a bright future ahead! Sierra is everything you’d hope for in a young pup; happy, affectionate, curious, and full of life. She greets the world (and everyone in it) with a wagging tail and an open heart. Whether she’s meeting new people or making doggy friends, Sierra is a total social butterfly. She absolutely loves being around others and thrives on connection, making her a wonderful companion for a home that’s excited to include her in daily life and adventures. At just 6 months old, Sierra is still very much a puppy, which means she’s in that fun and formative stage of learning about the world. She’s playful and energetic, always ready for a game, a walk, or a romp with other dogs. She would likely love a home with another friendly pup to play with, or an active person or family who will keep her engaged and continue her socialization. Because she didn’t have a known background before being found as a stray, Sierra will benefit from continued guidance as she grows. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she has all the potential in the world to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion. She’s already shown us how smart and eager to connect she is, which will make training both rewarding and fun. We feel very strongly that every dog and their family deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Sierra out to a home that doesn't choose to offer her this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Sierra is looking for a home that will embrace all the joys (and responsibilities!) of raising a young dog - continued training, structure, exercise, and, of course, lots of love. In return, she promises endless tail wags, happy greetings, and a loyal companionship that will only grow stronger with time. Sierra has a stunning wire-y coat that speaks of her breed mix. Her hair is currently shelter-tired but once on a regular protocol of care, it will be gorgeous and shining with excellent health. This sweet girl will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a salmon oil supplement for hair care) to keep her coat cottony-soft, shining and matte-free. We're open to Sierra finding her forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart pup. Sierra enjoys her relationships with all humans and dogs, we would prefer however, to place her in a home with older kids only (tail pulling or rough treatment by young kids will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Sierra enjoys her relationships with other dogs as well and would love playing hard and enjoying the sunshine with a canine friend on a beautiful day. Sierra will be up to date on her vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has also been spayed in our quest to create a euthanasia-free future in the canine population. Sierra will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 3/28/2026. Applications are currently being accepted for this beautiful, very sweet and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Sierra please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.
