All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped. * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700 Cookie Monster is a 1 year old Schnauzer x Papillon mix who’s ready to move into her new address on Sesame Street with you! Cookie was rescued from the shelter after she was left for reasons unknown. We do suspect she had a family in the past, as she is somewhat trained. We knew a girl this gorgeous didn't deserve a life behind bars, so we scooped her up and away we went towards her fabulous second chance! Cookie weighs 30 pounds and has a non-shedding coat. She will require regular grooming but is an option for homes with allergies, or who want less hair around the house. Ready for the cutest Muppet on Sesame Street in your lap forever? Come and meet Cookie Monster today! Cookie Monster is an extremely friendly and cuddly gal who has piercing blue eyes and a personality that makes it impossible not to fall madly in love with her. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly fulfill the definition of “Man’s Best Friend”, that’s our Cookie Monster! She’s a total velcro dog who wants to be with her people forever and ever. If you sit down anywhere she can reach, prepare for her to climb right into your lap and stay there forever. Cookie is super agile and a professional climber, so she’d be a fabulous addition to a hike or an outdoor adventure. Cookie Monster just adores life and can’t wait to explore as much of it as she can. She makes everyday better just by being in it, as it’s impossible not to smile when you see her cute face and her wagging tail. She also LOVES treats, of course, and is highly trainable as she is very smart. Prepare to show off this wonder pup to all of your friends and family as they applaud in amazement. Cookie starts her morning at 7 AM with a trip to the potty before she comes inside for her morning cookie. She heads back to bed until breakfast at 9 AM, followed by some playtime as her people leave for work. She occupies herself with her toys during the day as she waits for the door to open and her humans to return. Once everyone is home, she goes out on another walk followed by dinner at 7 PM. In the evening, Cookie hops up on the couch and gets all the snuggles she could ever hope for. It’s impossible not to stroke her soft fur and coo over her. She goes out for one last potty and then goes into her crate around 9 PM. Cookie Monster thrives in the company of other dogs and would be an amazing companion pup. She does have some separation anxiety, so a home where her people are home a lot would be ideal if she is a solo dog. She bonds very quickly to new people and is more interested in humans than just about anything else. She knows how to walk on a leash and happily trots along as she checks out the neighborhood.
