Story
Hiya! My name is PATSY and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed:  Schnauzer mix Age:  Approx. 4 years old  Gender:  Female Weight:  43 lbs (19.4 kg)  Height:  60 cm (paws to top of my head) Length:  83 cm (head to butt) Neck:  27 cm Chest:  34 cm Current Location:  Mexico City RESCUE STORY - My rescue journey began nearly two years ago just outside of Mexico City, where I was found scared, injured, and abandoned on the street. My rescuer believes I was hit by a car, as my right hind leg appeared broken, I was in pretty sad shape! Thankfully, a kind stranger scooped me up and rushed me to the shelter where I received urgent veterinary care. See videos from my rescue day here, here, and here. Sure enough, my leg was fractured! It required surgery to heal properly, they even inserted a temporary pin to help me heal! Being the strong and resilient lady that I am, I have healed up nicely and even go on daily walks to help strengthen my leg.  TEMPERAMENT - The volunteers here at the shelter say I’m a loving, gentle girl. I coexist well with my fellow doggos, and humans too! I pickup on commands easily, and am very alert. I tend to pickup on noises around the shelter!  ENERGY LEVEL - Medium/High - I looove to go for walks, and to play with my pals here at the shelter! We keep busy playing with my favorite toy, balls! And doggie toys! A fun fact about me, chicken is my favorite food! You’ll also catch me snacking on carrots and tortillas!  When it’s time to wind down, I share my bed with many dogs here at the shelter! While I love to snuggle with my pals, I’m SO looking forward to a bed of my very own in a forever home - will that be with you?!  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. While I’m a pretty sweet gal, I haven’t had much exposure to kiddos at the shelter.  Dogs –  You betcha! I live with many dogs here at the shelter. We like to walk and play together! Cats – Yes, I do well with kitties! Take a look at my videos here and here. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Pretty good, but I will need some help polishing up! I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Find videos of me walking on a leash here and here!  House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2072696##

Story
Hiiiiii there! My name is Stefano and here is a bit more info about me. PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Mixed Schnauzer Age: 1 year 6 months Gender: Male Weight: 24 lbs ( 11 kg)   Length (nose to bum): 68 cm Height (paws to top of shoulders): 44 cm , Height (paws to top of head): 54 cm Neck circumference: 30 cm Torso circumference: 54 cm Current Location: Mexico City, Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was originally a family pet, however my "family" gave me up when they had a child. I didn't do anything to deserve this, they just decided they didn't want me anymore. Luckily, I was rescued just in time and didn't end up spending time homeless on the streets! I was brought to La Casa del Mestizo shelter, located in Mexico City. I was quite malnourished when I was first rescued but was otherwise a healthy boy. I have gotten back to a healthier weight since being at the shelter and am sooo ready to find my forever home in the Pacific Northwest! TEMPERAMENT - I am a very friendly, joy-filled boy. I'm a playful companion who is eager to grasp any opportunity to be taken out on walks or play with anybody!! I'm friendly at first sight, not really shy, and boy do I LOVE cuddles. My rescuer describes me as a dog who just puts everbody around him in a good mood, hehe :) I currently sleep inside a crate at night-- the door is open but I choose to sleep inside with my cuddle buddy, a mixed pitbull. I am definitely a snuggler! I am super friendly and very affectionate with hoomans and just love, LOVE! I get along with all the dogs at the shelter and am a good playmate. I am looking for a new family where I can be loved like I deserve. Along with lots of love, I'll need leadership and boundaries (same with all dogs) in order to truly flourish! My favorite snacks are chicken, apples, and carrots. Yum! I have been practicing walking through busy places (video) and have been working towards my very best self! I feel so ready to come to my forever home and continue to thrive!  ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate. I have prety medium energy - I play hard but I crash hard too! Once I've had a walk and play sesh, I love to relax and take naps. I usually go to bed at 9 pm! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yup! Check out my videos here and here! As with ALL dogs, I should be supervised around children. My humans need to advocate for my space and make sure I'm respeupcted :)  Dogs – Yes! I get along with the doggies at the shelter, big and small. I am a good boy when meeting dogs on the streets too (video) Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – I love walkies! (video) I am a pretty good walker on leash and I don't show any signs of reactivity towards people, dogs, cars (video), cats, or bikes (although it's not uncommon for pups to struggle with reactivity after the stressful journey north). I'd love an adopter who can patiently help be learn perfect leash manners! House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)  Car rides – Unknown Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and vaccinated. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Brucellosis, Parvo, Distemper, and Heartworm before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process.
