Story
MEET MAGGIE:  Born March 4th, 2024, Maggie is a sweet and loving Corgidoodle puppy with a bright future ahead. Thanks to a partnership between the Bissell Pet Foundation and National Mill Dog Rescue, Maggie was rescued from a commercial breeding facility and is now looking for her forever home. While she’s still a puppy learning the ropes, Maggie possesses a wonderful temperament and is eager to please. She and her sister Molly were rescued from a life of breeding. Personality:Maggie is a sweet and loving puppy, eager to learn and bond with her new family. While she may be shy initially, she has a gentle demeanor and a warm heart. With some time and patience, Maggie is going to make an amazing addition to your family! She thrives on love and attention and is very food and treat motivated, which will help her learn commands and skills over time. She has much taller legs than a Corgi and the coloring is more typical of a Poodle, but she has no tail. Requirements: Socialization Needs: Maggie will benefit significantly from another confident dog in the home to help her come out of her shell. She may be timid at first, but with the right companion, she will flourish. Fenced Yard: A secure, fenced yard is essential for her safety and to provide her with a space to explore and play. Leash Manners: Maggie currently lacks leash manners and may experience fear when on a leash. She will need gentle guidance and training to help her become comfortable. Training: As a young puppy, Maggie does not yet know any commands but is eager to learn. She is currently working on crate training and house training, so patience and consistency will be key. Grooming: As a doodle mix, Maggie will require grooming to keep her fur from becoming tagled and matted. Thankfully, she doesn't appear to have much of a curl to her hair, which makes brushing a little easier! Ideal Home:Maggie would thrive in a calm and loving environment where she can gradually acclimate to new experiences. A family or individual willing to spend time socializing her, teaching her commands, and providing the structure she needs would be ideal. If you have another dog to help her adjust, that would be a huge plus! She has not shown any concerning interest in cats and would do well with older, dog-savvy children. She is still a puppy that is very active, and will need a family that can keep up with her puppy antics! She is working on crate training and her house manners are improving every day with consistency. Maggie has a bright future ahead of her, and with the right support, she will turn into a loyal and cherished companion. Could you be the one to give Maggie the loving home she deserves? Story
MEET BENTLEY Age: 1 year  Breed: Aussiedoodle  Current Weight: 32 lbs (should be around 50 lbs)   Rescued from a life of commercial breeding, Bentley is now safe and ready to find his loving forever home, thanks to the collaboration between the Bissell Pet Foundation and National Mill Dog Rescue.  Bentley is a big, sweet puppy with long legs that he has yet to grow into. While he’s currently underweight and adjusting to a healthier lifestyle, his spirit is as lively as ever! Bentley is eager for love and companionship, though he is under-socialized from his past. This sweet boy craves affection and will thrive in a loving environment.   He is motivated to learn with the right training and consistency. With some guidance, Bentley is catching onto routines in his foster home, and his house manners are showing improvement.   Bentley enjoys playing with other dogs and would do well in a home that has an active furry friend to keep him company. He doesn’t mind cats either, making him a versatile companion for various family dynamics. Bentley is a big puppy who will thrive with an active family prepared to work with him and provide the exercise and socialization he needs. Due to his past, Bentley is prone to counter surfing and dumpster diving. With patience and proper training, he can learn better habits.  A physically fenced yard is essential, as he is still learning to walk on a leash and will benefit from safe space to play and explore.   As an Aussiedoodle, Bentley will require regular grooming to keep his coat in great condition. He is beginning to enjoy the pampering but is still a little frightened of the dryer. Bentley would do best in a home with dog-savvy children who can appreciate his energetic spirit and help him learn to navigate the world. He would be likely to steal food from young children, unless of course it's broccoli, but his past has not provided him with an understanding that regular meals are a guarantee. A loving and patient family that can provide structure and training will help this sweet boy blossom into the companion he was meant to be. Ultimately, this boy is going to blossom into an amazing family dog! Are you ready to give Bentley the loving forever home he deserves? He’s waiting for you!  Bentley is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedScheduled for neuter surgery at our partner Veterinary office in Clinton Twp on 12/23. ADOPTION FEE: $350 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI.
