Story
Felix is a 3-year-old Irish Doodle and is a gentle giant. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old and from the start, he has been so full of personality. While he weighs only 60lbs, he is tall and lanky and appears larger than his weight. He often thinks he is a lap dog and is happiest when he is snuggling and playing with his family. He craves attention and would do best with a family who has a lot of time to spend with him. He does very well with other dogs but has not been around cats. He does bark when he sees something out the window or with a knock at the door; but it is strictly an alert bark, he has never been aggressive. He loves food and treats and because he is so tall, he can reach the counters and tends to help himself; therefore, we try to keep all food put away. When he was 1, he broke his rear right femur and underwent successful surgery in which he had a rod placed. He made a full recovery and has had no issues since; he loves to run and gallop. Felix is a good boy.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Mr Banjo the magnificent…He is timid in the ways of understanding human interactions but very willing to participate and learn.Very passive natured and very responsive to training. He loves to play and plays well with others, Does good with kitties and kids.Leash trained and eager to walk for as long as you like. He will gladly get eye to eye with you for a kiss but knows that it isn't always wanted by some so he will do as you wish. He's happy to sleep on the back of the couch or on your lap but also knows not everyone might want him there.Would be great with a pal or two and definitely needs room to burn off that energy.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN.
