Story
Joel loves the outdoors. He loves to roll around in the grass and bathe in the sun. He follows his nose anywhere, usually along a tree line and into tall grass and weeds. Any chance he gets, he'll hop into a river or pond, even in the dead of winter. I'm looking for a new home for Joel where he can spend more time outdoors doing the things he loves—ideally 2+ hours per day to explore. Joel is used to living with other dogs and has done well around young children. He can be hit-or-miss with strange dogs on walks, but he can get comfortable with anyone after some exposure. Cats get him very excited, but he tends to scare them off. When you adopt Joel, you can take all his gear home with him—toys, leashes, collars, etc. His favorite toy is the 13" Multipet Duckworth. Joel isn't trained per se, but he knows his name and can do a few tricks. His DNA test shows that he is: 50% Poodle (Standard) 22.9% Australian Shepherd 13% Boston Terrier 8.2% Beagle 5.9% Cocker Spaniel

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Biscuit is a 2.5 year-old, 55-pound doodle. She is extremely playful and friendly and gets along well with other dogs. She would do well in a home with another young, playful dog and a large fenced yard.  Biscuit is not recommended for a home with children.  She is crate trained and potty trained and loves toys, being close to her humans, and going on walks.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tucker is a 7-month-old, 62-pound doodle. He is young and playful and gets along well with other dogs and children. He loves toys and balls and has tons of puppy energy. He would do well in a home with another young, playful dog and a large fenced yard. He is working on potty training, so will need a patient adopter willing to continue working with him as he continues to learn and grow. He is very smart and would benefit from structured training. Story
Hi there! My name is Hibiscus, I am about a year old and weigh 42 pounds right now. I came to the rescue very thin, so they are working on getting me to a healthy weight. I am a little goofy, which seems to make everyone around here laugh! I love to play, run around, and I especially love tennis balls, which I bring back to you with a soft mouth release. I am a well-mannered girl, but I do need some structure and guidance as I am still learning about the world. I am very focused on you, and I love to please, so I will be a quick learner in my new home. I would love an active home that can give me lots of exercise, but also lots of love and affection. I am ready to begin my new life in a loving home where any children are at least 4 years old. I can't wait to meet you and play fetch! If you are interested in Hibiscus and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
From Merlin's foster mom: I have had the pleasure of fostering Merlin for several months. He was dumped in a rural area and was hard to catch and scared of everything. I brought him into my house and he stayed inside with outside potty breaks while in my care and NEVER had an accident inside. I became worried about his safety when he escaped my fence one day and would not come back to me. He was sent for 2 weeks inboard training. He caught a chicken the day he got loose but dropped it when I told him to and the chicken was unharmed. Merlin slowly warmed up to me and would try to get in to my lap a lot. He is very loving and sweet. He would be a great walking or jogging companion as he is high energy. He was very submissive to all my other dogs and was tolerant of cats but I never left him alone with the cats. Merlin is very smart and funny and he has a wonderful personality. He is a perfect dog but he needs an adopter with a sense of humor. Merlin "The Magician" makes things disappear! He loves to collect household items...shoes, clothes, spoons, canned goods, measuring tapes...whatever he can get his mouth on. He has great fun swiping things the second you turn around. He has a special place he takes his treasurers and understands you will collect your items back. I imagine this will improve as he grows out of puppyhood and with follow up training. He was started with the basics but will continue to need reinforcement of what he has learned.
