Story
Meet Tina! Tina is a doodle mix who is looking for her forever home! Tina came to us with her sister Louise so keep an eye out for her photo as well. She is five and a half months old. Mom was a large breed doodle and dad was an unknown male. (The neighbor does have an intact Rottweiler, but we don’t know for certain if he’s the dad). We expect her to reach 45-60 pounds or so when full grown. Tina does ok in a crate and she is picking up potty training well with few accidents. She is very playful, but can get a little possessive of toys and food. She is learning how to trade for these items, but her future family will need to keep up with that. She is very playful and loves to chase and pounce almost anything. She is ready to find her forever home! Poodle mixes are very high maintenance and the main two reasons we get them surrendered often to rescues is 1. Their energy level and their high intelligence makes a high energy dog who needs an outlet and can become naughty without training structure. 2. Grooming costs and time! Time and time again we see families needing to rehome these babies because of the high costs of seeing a professional groomer every month or two and of the daily and weekly maintenance at home that their coat requires. A full head to toe combing out and then brushing each and every inch of their body to foam through and prevent mats. For a large breed dog this is not going to be a 10 minute task. Making sure that she is comfortable and used to grooming is something that really needs to be kept up with! Any family who is interested in adopting Tina or Louise needs to start talking to a groomer about getting her on a schedule to start getting her used to going to a professional groomer. If you are interested in adopting Tina, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-62771 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

Story
BASICS: – Female – 2.5 years old – 45ish pounds – Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped – Potty trained, crate trained – Dog friendly, cat friendly – No young kids PERSONALITY: Linda is very shy and timid at first, and needs someone with patience as she integrates into her new home/people/etc. She is avoidant of strangers and needs time to warm up. Once warmed up, Linda is very calm, happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and easy. IDEAL HOME: She would do best having a woman in the home. Men are totally fine too, and Linda even calmly seeks them out for affection too once she warms up, but she thrives off of and leans off of having a woman in the home. DOGS: Lives in foster with other dogs. She does good with both small and big dogs. CATS: Lives in foster with cats. She started off just peacefully coexisting and tolerating the cats, but has evolved to having cat friends. Her foster says her cats actually like Linda more than the resident dogs now after a couple months in foster. KIDS: Linda does not appreciate young children and is not a match for a home with them. TRAINING: Potty trained. Crate trained (continuing crating will be recommended – it is her safe space and she appreciates putting herself up in it at times where she needs a social break). Does not pull on a leash (though is kinda jumpy the whole time- going back to her skittish-ness). BACKSTORY: Linda accidentally escaped from her owner this summer. She proved to be quite the evasive one and took nearly a month to recapture. After capture, convos with her owner revealed they did not think Linda was happy with them nor did they feel best equipped to manage medical rehab (Linda was injured while on the run and needed surgery). Linda was surrendered to us to follow and has recovered from hip surgery (FHO). Linda is a FLIGHT RISK. It is extremely unlikely that Linda could be caught again if she escaped, so adopters must be prepared to take an abundance of caution to keep her safe and secure. LOCATION: Currently in foster in Atlanta, GA. AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a two week, commitment free and pressure free, trial run to make sure things are a match before sealing the deal. APPLY HERE: joyspromise.org/adopt – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Inquiries on adoption sites is not an application. Your inquiry will not be seen until you complete an actual application at joyspromise.org/adopt

Story
Panda is a great dog. Adaptable and easy. Very spunky and playful. Loves to play so children or other dogs are great. He is a big dog so he’s better with other larger dogs. Panda is very cuddly and sweet. Needs exercise daily and lots of mind stimulation. Panda does have an autoimmune called Pemphigus foliaceus. It causes some hair loss and changes his hair texture than most poodles but it’s easily managed with occasional dose of steroid and auto suppressant.
