Story
Meet Leroy! He ended up at the shelter as a lost boy on 12/27, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Leroy is now keeping his paws crossed for a new, forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. Leroy is in need of a good grooming to feel and look his best. The volunteers have discovered that he knows several commands including sit, lay down, shake, and other paw. He also gives the best hugs! Leroy is approximately 1 year old, and he weighs 60 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he will be neutered, microchipped, and heartworm tested upon adoption. Please come meet Leroy in run 24; his ID # is 7169. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Hi I`m Leo!I am an energetic and social poodle and am looking for my forever home! I do great with other dogs but not much cats - I`m just too interested in them! I am totally housebroken which is great and I`m not destructive. I like to be near my people for sure, so I would love a family! I am a quick learner, but I am active and energetic so need a family able to help me out with that! I would be a perfect adventure dog for you - come meet me!Love,Leo

Story
Dandelion’s story is one of resilience and transformation! She absolutely broke our hearts when we learned she was delivering puppies in a shelter, just hours after she was seized from a massive hoarding/neglect situation. She was so matted that she could not see and could not freely move. She was immediately rushed to a foster home where she laid, exhausted, and nursed her puppies for the three hours it took to shave her. Despite going through pregnancy and labor in deplorable conditions, she was an absolutely excellent mom to four gorgeous puppies who have all found their forever homes. And now some lucky family gets to write the final chapter of her redemption story! Dandelion can be understandably shy with new people but once she lets her guard down, her playful and curious nature shines through. She loves ear rubs, belly rubs, tushie rubs… Once those nasty mats were gone and she discovered the feeling of caring touch, she can’t get enough of it. She is about two years old with a classic poodle coat so will require regular grooming. She gets along well with the dogs in her foster home but is definitely more interested in her people than other dogs, so would be fine as an only dog. She is low/medium energy but will bark at unfamiliar noises so a busy apartment building is likely not a great fit for her. Dandelion just wants affection and companionship; her joyful tail wags as she nuzzles into your neck will absolutely melt your heart! Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! While we make our best guesses, we often don’t know what breeds our kiddos are made of. We cannot guarantee our guesses will always be right but CAN guarantee they are 100% good dogs! Our adoption fee is $350. **We only adopt to families in/around Atlanta, Ga (about a 1-2 hour perimeter)** If you are interested in any of our dogs, please visit https://releashatlanta.com/adoptable-dogs.php to either view more of their profile or to apply to adopt! Story
Oreo is an approximately 1 year old, 47 lb standard poodle. Oreo loves being around his foster family. He has a curious and playful personality. Oreo loves all humans and thinks that every dog he meets will be his playmate. Oreo likes to be near his humans but is not needy. Oreo loves to be near his foster dog, brothers, and sisters and will cry if separated. He will cry if he is not sleeping near or touching his foster dog brothers and sisters at night. Oreo is not crate-trained. Oreo loves leash walks, playing with his toys, riding in the car, and running in his foster dad’s fenced backyard. Oreo has been trained to walk with a Gentle Leader. Oreo’s foster dad nicknamed him ‘Houdini’ because Oreo is an escape artist. He has crawled under cars and fences. Oreo needs to have toys surrounding him at all times to keep him busy because he is still a puppy. Oreo is being trained to respect his foster family’s home because he is very curious and likes to get into trash cans. Oreo is great with all other animals, including chickens and cats, but can be too playful and scare his foster cat sister. Oreo is a poodle, so that he will require frequent grooming. Oreo is a special boy. At some point in his early life, his tail was broken, and his lower back was injured. Because of this, Oreo will require a very special family who can provide the extra care that Oreo requires. Oreo cannot move, wag, or lift his tail. His broken tail causes his poop sometimes to get stuck. He has been trained to allow his foster dad to help keep his back end clean with wet wipes and frequent washings. Because Oreo’s lower back and sacrum were injured, he came to Orphan Annie with frequent intermittent fecal incontinence. Orphan Annie has provided supplemental care, including chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture. The extra care has reduced his fecal incontinence by at least 90%, and he only has occasional fecal incontinence. He is on a weight management diet to keep his weight under 50 lbs and is also on a joint supplement to help with his back injury. To adopt Oreo, we require a fenced yard and another young, playful dog. His adoption fee is $350, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, and heartworm testing.
