Story
We got Murphy when he was a few months old from his mom, a purebred black poodle, in Iowa. He is days away from being one year old and is very energetic and playful! He loves walks, frisbee, and sticks. He loves to be with us and petted, and is very smart and trainable. We are looking to rehome him because a few months ago when we were adjusting to life with a newborn baby, Murphy had a brief stretch of biting incidents with my wife. He never broke skin or left marks and has been bite free for the last 3+ months. Our dog trainer said he could be a great fit for a single person or someone with a good size yard to play in and explore!

Story
Meet Seahawk, a charming adult dog with a playful, goofy personality that will surely win your heart. She's not just all fun and games, though. Seahawk is also incredibly smart and energetic, which makes her the perfect companion for those who love active lifestyles. She thrives on high-energy activities, making her an excellent partner for hiking, running, or even just a fun game of fetch in the park. While Seahawk's energy and playfulness make her great for active adults, her high energy may be too much for children. Seahawk would do best with an experienced adopter as she will need continual training. Adopt Seahawk and let her brighten your life with her boundless energy and affection. Seahawk weighs 45lbs., is approximately 1.5 year old (est. birth date 05/09/2023), and her adoption fee is $500. Seahwak has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Seahawk, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. Meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Story
Oreo is an approximately 1 year old, 47 lb standard poodle. Oreo loves being around his foster family. He has a curious and playful personality. Oreo loves all humans and thinks that every dog he meets will be his playmate. Oreo likes to be near his humans but is not needy. Oreo loves to be near his foster dog, brothers, and sisters and will cry if separated. He will cry if he is not sleeping near or touching his foster dog brothers and sisters at night. Oreo is not crate-trained. Oreo loves leash walks, playing with his toys, riding in the car, and running in his foster dad’s fenced backyard. Oreo has been trained to walk with a Gentle Leader. Oreo’s foster dad nicknamed him ‘Houdini’ because Oreo is an escape artist. He has crawled under cars and fences. Oreo needs to have toys surrounding him at all times to keep him busy because he is still a puppy. Oreo is being trained to respect his foster family’s home because he is very curious and likes to get into trash cans. Oreo is great with all other animals, including chickens and cats, but can be too playful and scare his foster cat sister. Oreo is a poodle, so that he will require frequent grooming. Oreo is a special boy. At some point in his early life, his tail was broken, and his lower back was injured. Because of this, Oreo will require a very special family who can provide the extra care that Oreo requires. Oreo cannot move, wag, or lift his tail. His broken tail causes his poop sometimes to get stuck. He has been trained to allow his foster dad to help keep his back end clean with wet wipes and frequent washings. Because Oreo’s lower back and sacrum were injured, he came to Orphan Annie with frequent intermittent fecal incontinence. Orphan Annie has provided supplemental care, including chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture. The extra care has reduced his fecal incontinence by at least 90%, and he only has occasional fecal incontinence. He is on a weight management diet to keep his weight under 50 lbs and is also on a joint supplement to help with his back injury. To adopt Oreo, we require a fenced yard and another young, playful dog. His adoption fee is $350, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, and heartworm testing. Story
Foster to Adopt   Meet Jack, a standard poodle who has endured a difficult life up to this point. This poor guy was part of a backyard breeding operation, where he was used solely for the purpose of producing more puppies to sell, with no regard for his own wellbeing or happiness. Jack was forced to live his entire life confined to a small outdoor pen, denied the love, care, and companionship that every dog deserves. To the uncaring breeders, Jack was nothing more than a money-making machine, his life and welfare completely disregarded in their single-minded pursuit of profit.  Tragically, Jack's story only gets worse from there. When the breeders decided to uproot and move to Florida, they had the audacity to simply leave Jack, along with Cash and Ginger, behind in their pens - essentially abandoning them and condemning them to an uncertain fate. The breeders callously remarked that "somebody will eventually find them," displaying a shocking lack of responsibility and compassion. Thankfully, a kind lady stepped in and intervened, taking Jack and the other dogs into her care to prevent them from being left to fend for themselves.  Now, the rescue is hoping to find a loving forever home where Jack can finally begin to heal from his traumatic past and experience the joy, affection, and comfort that he was so cruelly denied for the first years of his life. Jack is a 3-4 year old standard poodle and is an extremely precious pup, brimming with love to give despite the hardships he has endured. He will be neutered on the 13th, is up-to-date on vaccinations, and is ready to shower his new family with the unconditional companionship that he deserves. With the right home, Jack can look forward to finally building the strong bond that every dog craves, leaving the painful memories of his past behind for good. We’re looking for the perfect family to foster to adopt Jack.  What does that mean? It means Jack will come live with you, and we we’ll finalize his adoption once he’s been neutered.   We have opened his application for anyone who’s interested. https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/22197/generic Please remember, you sharing and asking your friends to share is what will help him find his family! ##2149548##
