Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2196500##

Constance the Cuddler Meet Constance, the 2.5 yo gorgeous gentle giant of a girl, St Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix. She was pulled from San Marcos shelter where they were planning to euthanize her because she wasn’t eating & was extremely depressed. Once into her foster’s home, she quickly came out of her shell, put on 20-25#, and began puppy pouncing & zoomies. She has a gentle mouth, loves humans of all sizes, dogs of all sizes & even gets along with cats. Her crate is her refuge, but blankets only as any beds will be gleefully shredded! Her fur is regrowing although she hasn’t yet achieved full “floof potential”. This sweetheart of a gal is ready for her “furever” home. Extra Attributes: Loves children (she is very gentle despite her size) Loves car rides $200 Local Fee (in Texas) $450 Out of State Fee (includes transportation to your area.)

Riggs is a cool name for a pretty cool character! I am an Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix, with FLOWING LOCKS and markings that make ALL the other dogs jealous! I am literally, 90# of gooeyness and love all rolled into one BIG TOOTSIE ROLL! I love my people, I LOVE A POOL and WATER, and I LOVE hanging with my other friends and WAITING to go into the POOL! I was found down by the border of TX and have been hanging with the rescue for just a short time, but I KNOW that I want a home that will spoil me FUREVER with pup cups and pool noodles. If you are a water loving family who also LOVE BIG DOGS, then I am you MAN! I am healthy and ready for you, so ADOPT ME SOON!!
