Story
Constance the Cuddler Meet Constance, the 2.5 yo gorgeous gentle giant of a girl, St Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix. She was pulled from San Marcos shelter where they were planning to euthanize her because she wasn’t eating & was extremely depressed. Once into her foster’s home, she quickly came out of her shell, put on 20-25#, and began puppy pouncing & zoomies. She has a gentle mouth, loves humans of all sizes, dogs of all sizes & even gets along with cats. Her crate is her refuge, but blankets only as any beds will be gleefully shredded! Her fur is regrowing although she hasn’t yet achieved full “floof potential”. This sweetheart of a gal is ready for her “furever” home. Extra Attributes: Loves children (she is very gentle despite her size) Loves car rides $200 Local Fee (in Texas) $450 Out of State Fee (includes transportation to your area.)

Needs special attention,
Story
Sebastian is a St. Bernard/Great Pyrynees mix, born November 2022.  Sebastian is an affectionate guy and loves to cuddle and give big hugs or kisses.  He loves belly rubs and if you're not paying him enough attention, he will give you the "Pyr Paw" until you acknowledge him.  He also won't mind if you scratch his ears or butt!  He is good at sitting, laying down on command and will get down off of something if he jumps up. Sebastian is mostly leash trained and knows how to 'sit' before you attach the leash or while waiting to go out the door.  He will benefit from some extra leash training and regular exercise with you.  He is usually calm and enjoys lounging with his people at home.  He also loves to have a routine and can get a little stressed with extra people or when things are different.  Sebastian is very food motivated and loves treats (don't we all?!).  He needs a fenced yard so he has a safe place to roam and explore.  He is mostly potty trained and will benefit from a refresher course in his new home. Sebastian is crate trained. although he will bark when the door is first closed.  He usually calms down after a minute or two.  If the door is left open, he will go in on his own when he wants to relax.  He is not destructive if left out of the crate when his people leave the house. The perfect home for Sebastian would be without kids or other pets.  Even better if you work from home because he loves being around his people.  He needs someone with lots of love and patience who can provide structure for him.  Sebastian is a great dog and will be a wonderful companion for someone!! True to his breeds, Sebastian is loyal and tends to be protective of his family.  Other common traits for a Saint Pyrenees include: Temperament:  Gentle, lovable, and intelligent.  Protective:  Loyal and will alert you to danger.  Easy to train:  Smart and learn quickly Affectionate:  Love to snuggle with family members. Exercise needs:  Need moderate exercise, such as daily walks or hikes. The suggested adoption donation for Sebastian is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2239629##

Story
Hagrid is a big ol’ sweetheart and a true gentle giant at 100 pounds of love and sloppy kisses. With his mild and laid-back nature, he’s the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a calm and loving dog. He’s about 5 years old and looks like a Great Pyrenees/St. Bernard mix. This big boy enjoys following his favorite person around and being part of your day-to-day life. Hagrid seems to get along well with other dogs, making him a great addition to a multi-dog home or as a loyal solo companion.Hagrid would love to find his forever home in time for the holidays—are you ready to welcome this big bundle of love into your family?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 4, 2024, 11:43 am

We are about as adorable as it gets. We are a mix of St. Bernard/Aussie and Coonhound. We will be big, loveable family members. Won't you take one of us home with you? Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2196499##
