Story
Mortimer may be a little shy at first, but give him a moment and you’ll see his true colors shine through. Once he knows you’re safe, he blossoms into a loving, affectionate companion who craves attention and cuddles. This handsome guy has had a rough start—he spent time outside where he was often picked on by other cats. Because of that, he’s understandably cautious in new situations. But don’t let that scare you off—Mortimer is all heart. He just wants to feel safe and loved. Mortimer has tested positive for FIV but keep reading: FIV is only transmitted through deep blood-drawing bite wounds. FIV+ cats can happy lives in socialized multi-cat households. FIV+ cats do not have a higher incidence of illness, and live the same lifespan as non FIV+ cats. Adoption fee is $100

Story
DOB 2022 Casper, our beautiful Himalayan mix who is 2 years old. We think Casper was teased in his previous home because he is reactive to feet and hands. Casper will need an owner who understands how to read cat body language. Casper's current foster loves Casper and can't believe he hasn't been adopted yet. He is always in the same room she is in. We think he would become more of a lap cat if he were in a home with just one young cat. He always comes to greet company. Casper will need time and a space to decompress in. It took time for him to adjust when he was surrendered to us. Casper does great with younger cats at the fosters' house. He does not like dogs. Casper likes to play with his feather toys. Sometimes he will play with the laser light. He likes to be up high. He is food motivated and LOVES churus. We would NOT recommend Casper be adopted to a home with children. If you have experiece with a cat with purrsonality like Casper, fill out an appllication. PLEASE READ: Adoption fee $100 for adult ( over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age-appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home. Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet. Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.

Story
**Talkative - Affectionate - Curious** Mochi is a sweet and vocal girl who loves being around her people. She loves to alternate between snuggling on your lap, napping in the cat tree, and chasing toys around. She'll follow you around and likes to know what you're doing. You'll fall in love with her gentle headbutts, bunny hops, and extroverted personality! Mochi will need a family that can dedicate themselves to her medical needs. Due to her special diet and supplements, she will do best in a home without other cats or young children. Mochi's adoption fee is $110. For more information on Cat Adoption Team's pricing and policies, visit catadoptionteam.org.HOW TO MEET ME: This kitty is currently in a foster home. After you apply, we may contact you to schedule a virtual or in-person meet-and-greet at the foster parent's residence. Story
Need to rehome/find a foster for my sweet boy Rockford "Rocky" Rockefeller. He's a seven year old, chocolate point Siamese, with two little white spots on his mouth that look like a mustache. Rocky has diabetes. I was scared when I found out at first, but it's easily managed with insulin and he doesn't even notice when we give it to him.(Insulin runs $23/mo) He loves to snuggle in bed right under your chin and put his little arm around your neck, nap in boxes and scratch those cardboard scratching boxes. He's litter box trained, neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on all his shots. He's perfectly fine with other cats or dogs in the house and has never been aggressive. Indoor only.
