Story
About Charlie   Age 2.5years old Weight 16 pounds Energy level Medium Healthy status Healthy  Ideal home Fenced yard with someone home part of the day   Charlie came to us from a local shelter. Charlie is an affectionate Shih Tzu mix who loves toys almost as much as he loves his people. He can entertain himself for quite a while, burying his toys under blankets and pillows, walking around with a toy in his mouth, or lying on his back holding a toy with his paws. He also loves cuddle, lap, and play time with his people and will gaze adoringly into their eyes. He enjoys meeting new people (especially if a treat is involved!), but he will stay at a respectful distance and approach them on his own time.    Charlie is a sturdy boy who weighs around 16 pounds. He enjoys being the center of his guardian's world, so we are asking that he go to a home without to many dogs because we want him to be spoiled!  Charlie does great with no accidents if he is let outside in the backyard every few hours like most dogs. He will go on indoor pee pads if necessary. Charlie prefers not to be left alone for too long, so we are asking for a home with someone home part of the day. For he's a jolly good fellow, and we're thrilled he's ready to find his forever home!  Jolly is a jolly 12-pound, 4'ish year-old Shih Tzu-possibly Poodle mix.  He did well with both dogs and cats.  Jolly loves to play with toys and will bring them right back to you. He loves to be in your lap and hanging out with his people.  He rode quietly in the car and walks nicely on the leash with plenty of pep in his step.    To learn how to adopt Jolly, please email adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.  Jolly is located in Alexandria, VA.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 25, 2025, 12:44 pm

Story
Male, 5 years old Jace is a super snuggle bug and an all around happy boy! Sadly, Jace has not had an easy go of it. He came to us severely matted (we're talking matting on every inch of his body) and from a home where he was mishandled by children. Unfortunately, this means he may take a little bit longer to be confident getting picked up but with time and trust his foster mom has been able to pick him up when he gives her permission. In the meantime he is very happy to jump up on your lap and lean in for snuggles and scratches. He really is such an affectionate little lion dog! While only in his foster home for a short time, he has settled into routines quickly. He loves treats, walks great on leash, and when at home he snuggles up quietly on a dog bed to snooze the day away while you work. He's doing extremely well with the grumpy resident dogs in his foster home so we think he will be great with other dogs too. He also seems to know the command "sit" and "down" when paired with a treat. Jace is a fun, friendly, and happy guy who can't wait to find a home where he is treated like a prince and can learn to trust again. Submit an application in order to meet Jace and see if he's your forever dog! If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
