Gizmo's got it all-all those gorgeous looks (button nose much?), excellent house manners ,and big ambitions to boot. Gizmo is working on championship fetch status while he is looking for his new home. He heard people like dogs who fetch, so he's all in with the tennis ball. At home, Gizmo is cuddly, smart and quiet. When he is out walking, that ambition kicks in and he works a bit too hard to achieve "tough guy on the block" status. His strategy is to bark and yell at passings dogs to prove himself. He needs to learn a new strategy and his new family can help. Your reward will be cuteness and kisses. Gizmo lives successfully with a dog in his foster home and has lived with others in the past. Gizmo is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. Gizmo is part of our Silver Paws program for senior dogs and his adoption fee is $250 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. Newton is looking for a family that has had dog experience. If you do not have dogs now or have not owned a dog in the last five years, and or if you have children, Newton may not be the right dog for your family. Newton would like to have a home with a yard where he can spend some time running around. He is an amazingly affectionate dog. Newton is a mixed breed we presume to be Shih-Tzu / Poodle mix. He is around 23 pounds neutered and up to date with all vaccinations. Newton ended up in a local shelter completely matted and in pain. He was shaved down, neutered and had imbecile hernia repair. He was too stressed out in the shelter so they reached out for a rescue group to help him. We got there as soon as we can. Newton is an active, happy, playful dog that gets along well with his new foster brothers. He seems to be energetic and active and a bit mouthy so he would not do well with young children. Look back here for more information as we get to know him better. Newton is a very affectionate companion. He seems to want to and will climb into your lap to be close to you. He like to be in touch with his people either on the lap, next to and touching on the couch, and very close in bed at night with his warm body. Charlie is an affectionate Shih Tzu mix who loves toys almost as much as he loves his people. He can entertain himself for quite a while, burying his toys under blankets and pillows, walking around with a toy in his mouth, or lying on his back holding a toy with his paws. He also loves cuddle, lap, and play time with his people and will gaze adoringly into their eyes. He enjoys meeting new people (especially if a treat is involved!), but he will stay at a respectful distance and approach them on his own time. Charlie is a sturdy boy who weighs around 16 pounds. Where to begin? I'll tell you about this dog named Bandit. He's around 3 years old. A Shih tzu mix, he wears a long, soft coat of black and tan, and weighs only 16 pounds. It's because of his small size that any children in your home should be at least10 years old. Small children don't always realize their own strength and might unintentionally hurt such a small dog. But there are many ways to hurt another, aren't there? Bandit is a wonderful dog who gets along with other dogs, kids and his foster's cat. Still, his previous owner took him to the vet to be euthanized because she &#194&#147no longer wanted him.&#194&#148 It hurts to even think about that, doesn't it? We're doing all we can in rescue to make him forget that, and we know you will, too.
