Story
My son found Tinie living by a dump on one of his truck routes and couldn't leave her abandoned. She was very matted and neglected. We shaved her down and cleaned her up. We paid to have treated and vaccinated. She has been living with us ever since the day we found her. We no little about her history or age just that she was an abandoned dog. She is loving and friendly and ready for a forever home. She would be a great companion pet for an older person.

Story
This sweet little 6 month old baby boy was given up by his owners because they were not able to care for him properly. He has an adorable personality and just want a good home for Christmas where he can have love, food, and the up-keep that he deserves. If you have room in your heart and in your home, please give this little guy a try. ***Murphy will not be able to be neutered until after Christmas, but if you would like to foster to adopt until we can have him neutered that would be wonderful so he can have a home for Christmas. All our pets are posted online and we continue to take applications until they are actually adopted. Many times things change and an approved adopter does not adopt the animal so we do maintain a wait list when necessary. All our adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines & started on Flea Preventatives. All Canines are started on Heartworm Preventatives and if 6 months or older they are tested for Heartworm Disease.WE ARE OPEN for visitors from 12PM - 4PM Tuesday -Friday and 12PM-3PM on Saturdays or by APPOINTMENT at other times. ONCE APPROVED WE WILL CALL/EMAIL YOU - APPROVALS CAN TAKE A FEW DAYS** WEEKEND APPLICANTS **WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAY & MONDAY THUS YOU WILL NOT HEAR BEFORE TUESDAYONLY ONE APPLICATION NEEDEDIf interested in more than one pup just put all the names on one application. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 11/14/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Rachel was found as a stray and landed at a NC shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rachel is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Rachel arrived in rescue with some of the worst teeth we've seen in a long time. She had a full mouth extraction and has joined our toothless wonders club. Rachel's fur still has some staining from licking with a very dirty mouth. Over time the cream color of her hair will return. Rachel requires a soft diet for the remainder of her life. Our best guess is that Rachel is some mix of Maltese, poodle and/or shih tzu. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic. Weight: 8.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, though a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me?  Rachel is an 11-year-old girl who was found as a stray in North Carolina before she arrived at CPR. Now, she’s searching for an adopter who understands the needs of a senior dog. Rachel thrives on quiet companionship—she’ll love nothing more than sitting in your lap soaking up your affection, napping in a sunbeam on the couch or chair, snacking on treats (but not too many!), going on leisurely strolls, and curling up in a warm, cozy dog bed (or better yet, your bed!) to sleep at night. Rachel is an absolutely charming girl who melts the hearts of everyone that meets her. Her sweet demeanor makes her the perfect companion for nearly any home—whether a house or apartment. She would do well with a single person, a couple, or a family. If there are children, they should be older, calmer, and more reserved, as Rachel prefers a quieter environment. The most important thing for Rachel is that her adopter is home most of the day to spend time with her. She’s a lap dog at heart, and she’ll always want a lap to sit in for cuddles and love. Rachel will thank you by smothering you in tiny kisses. What is my personality like? Say hello to Rachel, a sweet little old lady looking for a forever home where she can enjoy her Golden Years. This lovely senior has a huge heart and can’t wait to share all of her love with her new adopter(s). Loving and sweet, Rachel loves everyone she meets—canines, humans, even felines. Her heart is as big as they come, and she’s always ready to share the love. Rachel fits the adage, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks. "While she may not be interested in learning a lot of new tricks (after all, she’s an intelligent lady who’s earned the right to relax), Rachel still enjoys life and is eager to be your loyal companion. It’s not that she can’t learn—she's simply too old to be bothered learning new stuff. Hey Rachel, there's a generation of folks who can totally relate to that! Rachel will walk on a leash though she'd prefer a home with a fenced-in yard where she can go outside to do her business and have a bit of playtime or exercise. While she’d be happiest as the only dog, she could also do well with a calm canine companion as long as she gets plenty of one-on-one time with her human. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will be by your side—and in your lap—Rachel is the perfect match. Her warm and affectionate nature will fill your home with joy, love, and plenty of smiles. Come meet Rachel, and you’ll quickly see why she’s the kind of dog who can brighten your world. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly and affectionate. Rachel has never met a lap she didn’t like! She believes people are put on this earth to provide her with a warm lap to curl up in. Other tips and tidbits: Rachel was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no information on her background. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 11-years-old. We celebrate her birthday as 11/14/2013. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. December 4, 2024, 1:54 pm

CPR pulled her from the shelter. Foster location: Foster Home in Raleigh, NC Special Needs? Kiki is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Because Kiki as found as a stray, we don't know what her breed mix is. Our best guess is a shih tzu / yorkie / poodle mix. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. If you have allergy concerns, she is not your dog. Weight: 9 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but she'd love one! What kind of home would be best for me? Kiki is looking for a very specific home.... You must be home more than you are away. Our ideal is someone that works from home, is an early retiree, or home schools. You must have another dog in the home (big or small Kiki loves them all). And if you have kids they need to be at least 6 as Kiki is on the smaller size. Mostly, we're looking for a home that wants a best friend.  What is my personality like? Kiki is the definition of love and loyalty in one happy, small body. Whatever life was before being found as a stray, she was clearly love. Kiki is the bestest girl you will ever meet. She is great with dogs of all sizes, indifferent to cats, and really just wants to give her heart to someone. Kiki sleeps in the bed in her foster home, pressed as closely against her foster dad as she can get. She prefers to sit on his lap during the day while he works, with regular pauses for a good play session with her toys. She's the perfect canine best friend! How do I act when I first meet new people? Kiki loves EVERYONE! She thinks new faces are new friends and is happy to meet you. Other tips and tidbits: Kiki was found as a stray so we have no history on her. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 1 year old. We celebrate her birthday 11/23/23. Story
Effie is a precious senior girl that is ready to find a family to call her own. Effie came to us from a horrible situation where she was one of twelve dogs that were living in a house that was beyond nasty - they had never been outside and were being fed just whatever was in the cabinets or refrigerator - Effie was so matted up when she came to the rescue that we did not even know if she was a male or female and she was not able to see until we shaved her down as her eyes were covered with matts of fur. Effie has really blossomed and is one of the more independent and confident dogs out of the group. She has decided that living the good life as a spoiled dog is pretty darn amazing and she loves to run and play outside. We estimate her age to be 7 years old- sometimes it is hard to tell as the neglect she suffered for years can make them appear normal and there was no way to tell her age from her teeth as they were in horrible shape and she had major dental work done after coming to the rescue. Effie does well with other dogs - she has not been around cats or small kids. She is doing well with her housebreaking but will require patience and consistency when going to a new home with a new schedule. Effie is spayed, has had her dental work done and remaining teeht cleaned. she has had a full workup with bloodwork and a urinalysis, heartworm tested and current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention, dewormed, current on vaccines and microchipped. She weights 25 pounds and is the perfect lap dog that would love to keep your lap warm If you are interested in sweet Effie - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We require this to be filled out and reviewed before we will set up any meet and greet - we do require vet references and and a home visit. Effie's adoption fee is $250.00 Effie said she is so ready to find a family and a home to call her own - will that be your home ?
