Story
Beautiful Niki - she loves to lay in the sunshine, patter around the house and then return to her soft bed. Does your home have a sunny spot, a love for sweet senior dogs and a gentle hand to pet this lady to her hearts content? Niki may be your girl! Niki is a 15 pound, 8 year old shih tzu mix; she is missing an eye and does have glaucoma in the other for which she takes eye drops. Her eyesight is limited but she navigates around the house no problem and she will follow you around as well. She has good house manners, working on leash training, good with other dogs that don’t get in her face too much and will most likely be good around cats. With Niki’s limited vision, small children would have to monitored around her and a fenced yard would be best as she does like to roam and explore once she’s comfortable. So, who is looking for a sweet and gentle-souled senior? Niki is only looking for kindness, comfort and someone to call her own. Fill out an application at https://teamstinkykiss.com/

Story
Misty is a 5-year-old Shih Tzu weighing just 15 pounds. She enjoys walks on a harness (no collars for this girl; she has a sensitive trachea), loves being outside, and is happiest curled up in your lap after a fun play session with toys or chewies. She especially enjoys treats and mealtime and being around her people and other dogs. Misty has a wonderful balance of playful and laid-back energy. One minute she’s trotting around exploring the yard, and the next she’s snoozing contentedly beside you. She gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t seem bothered by cats. Because she can be wary of strangers at first, she would likely do best with older children or a calm, patient home willing to give her time to feel safe. She’s making progress with house training but is still getting the hang of that. Misty can sleep in a kennel at night, although she’s not a big fan of being kenneled during the day for long periods. Loud noises and haircuts are definitely not her favorite things either! Misty is looking for a loving family who understands that healing takes time. Once she trusts you, she becomes the sweetest, most devoted companion you could ask for. This resilient little girl has already overcome so much — now she just needs a forever home where she can finally be cherished the way she deserves. 🐾 Fill out an application at https://teamstinkykiss.com/

Intake: 4/21/2613lbs at IntakeAdoption fee: $350Neuter ScheduledVaccinatedMicrochippedHW Positive and undergoing treatment  Noa is a Shih Tzu mix with an adorable personality and teddy bear look. He arrived from an incredibly high intake shelter needing treatment for his Heartworms. He does fabulous with other dogs, cats, kids and loves everyone he meets! He was groomed professionally immediately after arriving and they said he behaved amazingly well! He is still recovering from a horrific flea infestation and his fur is slowly getting back to normal.  Noa is heartworm positive and will need to remain as a local adoption while he undergoes treatment unless adopter plans to have him treated at their own expense. Treatment is fully paid for by rescue and includes: one month of daily Doxycycline. One month off. 2 back to back injections at the clinic in Statesboro Ga.  Approved applications required to adopt!  *If you choose to adopt (before all vetting is complete) and use your own vet rather than our local Snip Clinic for these services, you do so at your own expense and it will not reduce the adoption fee. Adoption fees are NON NEGOTIABLE.1.) All dogs are adopted to the best possible match and calling or emailing the rescue will not speed up the process or liken your chances of being chosen. Please DO NOT CALL the rescue unless you have been specifically given the phone number by one of the staff.2.) You will be notified by the adoption coordinator if your application is approved. Intake: 3/29/2615lbs at IntakeAdoption fee: $350NeuteredVaccinatedMicrochippedHW Negative and on Monthly Prevention Not every dog is here to be your best friend 24/7… and Gru Gru is here to make that very clear. Gru Gru is a Shih Tzu with opinions, boundaries, and absolutely no interest in being treated like a stuffed animal. He can be sweet, affectionate, and even a little funny but only when he decides the timing is right. This is not a dog that tolerates being fussed over on demand, picked up, or handled unless he likes you.  Gru Gru has a very strong startle reflex. His previous home knew this and unfortunately chose to ignore it, which resulted in multiple bites. This wasn’t a “bad dog” situation, it was a human boundary problem. Gru Gru communicates clearly. He just needs someone willing to actually listen. What Gru Gru needs: A quiet, adult-only home Someone who understands and respects dog body language A home where he can exist without constant handling or pressure A person who is okay earning his trust instead of expecting it immediately What Gru Gru is NOT: A lap dog A dog for children A dog for someone who wants something cuddly 24/7 A dog who will tolerate being picked up or hovered over Gru Gru isn’t for everyone but for the right person, he will be incredibly rewarding. He doesn’t need saving. He needs understanding. If you’re the type of person who respects space, reads dogs well, and doesn’t take things personally… Gru Gru might just be your guy. Story
Meet Lola! 🐶 Lola is an 8-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix weighing just 8 pounds. This sweet little lady is ready to find a loving forever home where she can continue to blossom. Lola is a gentle girl who absolutely loves being petted and spending time with her people. She enjoys going for walks and is leash trained, and she’s also crate trained. At first, Lola can be a little shy, but she’s starting to come out of her shell with her foster mom and the other dogs in the home. As she becomes more comfortable, her playful side and growing energy level are starting to show. It’s been wonderful to watch her confidence grow! Lola does well with children and other dogs, but her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. She prefers affection on her terms and doesn’t enjoy being held for long periods, but she’ll happily soak up all the pets and attention you want to give. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who is ready to blossom with the right family, Lola might be the perfect match! Lola had to be shaved down due to severe matting- please understand that she will require regular grooming. Fill out an application at https://teamstinkykiss.com/
