At approximately 12-13 years old, this sweet boy is on a mission to find his forever home where he can shower his new family with love and snuggles. Socks is the epitome of low maintenance—his favorite activities include basking in the sun, catching up on his beauty sleep, and indulging in belly rubs and tasty treats! Socks is a gentle soul who thrives on companionship, so he’s looking for someone who will be around to share those precious moments. He’s house trained and prefers regular outdoor adventures to keep him happy and accident-free. While he isn’t the chatty type, he does enjoy the occasional stroll around the yard and would love a helping hand with stairs now and then. Shadow’s a 2yo 6lb Shih Tzu mix. He’s dog, cat and kid 6+ friendly. He’s house trained when kept on a schedule and is crate trained. He’s good in a secure fenced in yard and/or going for harness leashed walks. He is a known escape artist so will really need to watch him in a yard and needs work on leash walking. He likes playing with toy, especially toys that he can chew on or play tug of war with. He loves to be with his people to cuddle and play/wrestle with other small dogs. He still has a lot of puppy energy. He’s very good with being bathed/groomed/getting nails clipped. Shadow’s foster requires he have another young playful small dog in the home, get daily exercise to help with all his energy and help stimulate him mentally, be allowed to be with his people as much as possible including sleeping in bed with them along with people who are on board to show leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirements, please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Shadow’s neutered, vaccinated, hw negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA.
