Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs on to their new adopting families leaving in March 2025 from Southern California where we are located to the East Coast. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Sadie to our trip for the right home 💕 As always, for peace of mind for our adopting families we never ask for ANYTHING up front. Adoption fee/travel costs are always due when we arrive in person with Sadie in hand ❤️
Meet Sadie ❤️ She is a shih tzu poodle mix. Yes, she is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed. She turns 2 on 3/1/25. She weighs 17 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, and had a great exam with our vet whom has cleared her to find a home all her own 😊
She is house trained, and is great about going outside to use the restroom when asked to. She doesn't have to tell us when she needs to go out because we have a very tight schedule throughout the day and will ask if she needs to go out every 2-3 hours, so I recommend the same in her next home.
She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in her crate at night. She doesn't have any issues in her crate at all, and will sleep all night peacefully. If you need to step out for any reason during the day, she’ll gladly nap in her crate as well. She does have amazing house mannerisms so in time if you wanted to make the crate obsolete you definitely could allow her to just hang out in your home til you return from any errands. She could also very well sleep on a dog bed in your room at night, or in bed with you if you prefer that! She is very easy going and will mold right into your life however you want her to ❤️
She is very good with dogs and cats alike, and til this day she will lay on "higher" areas if she has access to them. In the beginning when she came to us she would want to lay on top of her crate 😂 so my husband would lay a dog bed for her up there, and she loved it. Now, she understands the beds are in the crates, and will perch on the sofa, or barstools instead of the crate. She is very smart, and learned what the cats do, have their advantages 😆
She is wonderful with men, women, and children alike. She is not high energy, but can definitely keep up with a good walk/hike/or run! She can be very agile when and if ever needed to be able to join her new person in every adventure they partake on. She is very calm in the home, and will lounge around napping or just hanging out playing with a favorite toy. She isn't one to hang out outside by herself and would very much rather be inside with her humans.
She doesn't need to be in a home with other dogs, or cats but would make a great friend to either if there were any in her next family. She is a people dog for sure, and really loves being a part of all they do, however she can. She isn't high maintenance and at the end of the day would make a great companion to anyone's world.
She is not a barker, but will occasionally alert you of unfamiliar noises. She loves to please you, and is always looking for ways to make you happy. She is a dog who will stare at you waiting for a command, or just to simply be called over and given a belly rub or snuggles ❤️
She is amazing on road trips, and would make an excellent traveling partner! She is always ready to "go" and loves to lay in booster dog seats so she can enjoy the scenery along the way so I totally recommend one for her travels in the future!
She is wonderful with our groomers, and is always happy to see her ❤️ She didn't care for her nails being cut in the beginning but has been doing much better with that!
Her prior owners worked a lot, and just didn't have the time to spend with her at the end of each day, and didn't want her life to be any less full than it deserved to be so they reached out to us to take her in and find her a family that had the time to be a part of her life in a way that would keep her heart full and tail wags coming ❤️
Her adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/sadie-1
It covers her spay. She was in heat at time of her spay so there was an in heat spay increase due to extra anesthesia time. It also covers her vaccines, microchip/registration, nail trim while under anesthesia, antibiotic injection given to aid in her healing from her in heat spay, her exam with our vet which also included an exam of her teeth and ears which were in great health, and always it helps cover the care involved in the time she has been with us, her grooming costs, and her training we have personally done with her 💕
