  Meet Phoenix, an adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso male mix.  At 5 years old, Phoenix is being surrendered, through no fault of his own, and is in need of a loving home. He spends much of his time during the day alone, and would absolutely love a home where he can interact with his family, be active, be cuddled, and live his best life. Phoenix is about 13pounds of cuteness, searching for a committed, loving family.  Phoenix sleeps in a crate with the door open. He is pad trained in the home, but will go outside as well. Also, leash and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccines and he is neutered. Pad training is due to Phoenix being alone up to 13 hours per day. At this time, Phoenix has not had interaction with other dogs, but current owner reports that he was left at doggy daycare and he got along with other dogs well.  Phoenix would thrive in a home that’s ready to give lots of love and guidance as he continues to learn to interact with people and other animals, all while providing a family with love. Phoenix would thrive best in a quieter forever home where he can continue to show his wonderful personality. Layla is a lively, affectionate 10 year old girl who adores people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She’s happiest in an active home where someone is around much of the time, since she loves being right in the middle of family life. Layla has a big personality and expresses herself with plenty of barking, often just for fun, so she’ll do best with people who appreciate a chatty companion. Layla also has allergies that require ongoing care. When she first arrived, her skin was in rough shape, but with treatment and a special diet, she’s made great progress! She may need continued management to keep her comfortable. With her playful spirit and loving nature, Layla will be a wonderful addition to a family that understands her needs and is ready to make her part of their everyday life. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Meet Sandy, a 6-year-old Shih Tzu with the sweetest soul and the cutest little dolly face you've ever seen. This adorable girl is the definition of a companion dog-gentle, loving, and happiest when she's close to her person. Sandy is looking for a very special home that matches her unique needs and personality. With her short little legs, stairs aren't her thing, so she'll need a home with minimal stairs or a family who doesn't mind giving her a lift when needed. She truly thrives on companionship, so an ideal home would be someone who works from home or a young retired couple who can spend plenty of time with her. She is wee-wee pad trained and prefers the comfort of being an indoor girl rather than spending much time outside. Sandy is currently doing amazing in her foster home, where she is absolutely adored, and it's easy to see why-she brings so much love and warmth wherever she goes. Sandy would do best in a home with another small dog, as she really enjoys the company of both people and canine friends. Due to past crate trauma, she cannot be crated and will need a family who is happy to let her sleep close by-she would love nothing more than to snuggle up in bed with you. She is being fostered in Fairfield, NJ, and is fully vetted-spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm and Lyme negative, microchipped, and dewormed.
