You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Theo is a 9-year-old Shih Tzu mix who weighs approximately 13 pounds. He is a sweet, snuggly lap log who loves to be near his humans! He would love a family that lets him sleep with them overnight. He is a gentle soul in search of a family to love him in his retirement years. Theo is very close to being potty-trained when kept on a schedule, but he does have occasional potty accidents. He will need a family who is patient with him while he continues to build consistency with housetraining. Theo does not enjoy spending time in his kennel. He is very vocal when in there, but does well with free roam, so there is really no reason to kennel him. Theo is also vocal when there are new people in his space and he likes to alert his foster family when they have visitors. For this reason, shared walls might not be the best fit for his forever home. His fur will require regular grooming, but what handsome old man doesn't deserve a good spa day?!? Theo has luxating patellas in both of his knees. The vet does not recommend surgical intervention at this time, but it is something to watch in the future. Currently, Theo should continue taking a glucosamine supplement. Buttercup and her sister and brother, Bubbles and Brodie were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are 8 months old. Buttercup has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs just under 7 pounds and is probably full grown now. Buttercup is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Buttercup is a little bossy but plays great with her brother and sister. we feel like she would be fine with other dogs after getting to know them but would always want to be the boss. She would be fine with older children, and we are not sure about cats but the bossy part would be the same at first. History: Elroy is a handsome fella who arrived to rescue recently and immediately warmed our hearts. He is officially ready to start his journey in finding his forever home and hopes to find them soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi my name is Elroy! I was originally a breeder release and I am about 6 months old. I am a shih Tzu poodle mix and probably the cutest thing you'll ever see. Here's what you need to know about me: I am a little timid and shy but I absolutely adore my foster mom. When everyone else is gone. I love to play wrestle, get into mischief and give lots of snuggles and kisses. I'm the seriously the silliest little guy you'll ever meet. When I came to my foster mom's house it took me a day or so to get warmed up to her. I slept in my kennel and could come and go as I please next to the busy section of the house but I really liked my safe place. Now. I still go in my kennel when my mom's gone but I am in it less and less when I get to choose. I really love to be out and about but kind of on my own terms. I have a house that has four kids and lots of friends that are visiting and In-N-Out. This makes me nervous sometimes and I like to sit by Mom or go in my safe place when I need to. And when Mom is gone and the rest of the family is in charge of me then they usually will leave the leash on so it's easier to get me to go outside. I don't love the leash and I love being brought outside with a leash but I sure do love a walk on a leash. I'm kind of silly that way. I do really well with potty training and I'm starting to go by the door when I need to go outside. Sometimes I have an accident in the house but usually that's because I'm too busy playing outside to go to the bathroom and then I come in and have to go all of a sudden. I love toys. I love to go for walks and do really good on the leash. I'm looking for a house that would maybe be last people a little bit more calm and I do really well with other dogs of all sizes but when enough is enough I like to go and just snuggle with my mom. I really wish that everyone could see the amazing dog I am when it's just me and my mom and my foster dad, then I'm super silly, really cute snuggle buddy. I have baby Zumiez and Ive got the cutest little snaggle tooth that pops out when I'm mischievous. I don't chew on things that aren't for me even though I'm a puppy and can easily be redirected. Again, I am a little shy and I'm a little timid and it's going to take me time to warm up but giving the space and the right family I will get there. I probably would be the very happiest in a household that is quiet and a super confident resident dog that can show me how to do all the puppy things like sit.
