Story
Meet Buffy and Jack – Bonded Best FriendsBuffy (12 years old, Shih Tzu mix) and Jack (8 years old, Jack Russell Terrier mix) have spent their entire lives side by side, sharing love, naps, and quiet companionship. Sadly, their world turned upside down when their beloved owner passed away, leaving these two sweet souls feeling lost without her. Buffy and Jack are as mellow and laid-back as can be. They love leisurely walks—strolling well on a leash—and then settling in for cozy naps together. These lifelong buddies have also lived peacefully with a cat, so a feline friend wouldn’t faze them one bit. While they may carry a few extra pounds, a little exercise and healthy meals will have them feeling their best in no time. Above all, Buffy and Jack’s greatest wish is to stay together. They bring comfort to one another, and now they’re hoping to find a new family who will cherish them both. If you’re looking for an easygoing, loving pair to fill your home with warmth and companionship, Buffy and Jack are ready to meet you. They’ve lost so much but still have so much love to give. Adoption fee $350 (together) + $30 Microchip fee (each) + tax

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I’m Archie! I may be a senior, but let me tell you, I’ve still got plenty of love to go around. I’m a total indoor dog—I mean, who needs the great outdoors when you’ve got all the cozy comforts of home, right? Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m perfectly content to do my business outside and then hurry back indoors for some quality snuggle time. I like couches, armchairs, and beds.  If they are good enough for humans, they are good enough for me! I enjoy sleeping in bed with the humans every night. Toys? Oh, I can’t get enough of them! Soft, crinkly, you name it—I’ll play with anything you give me.  I do not need a fenced yar, as long as you always go out with me.. Sure, I enjoy the occasional walk, but I’m not dependent on it for bathroom breaks. I’m more of a in-and-out kind of guy when it comes to outdoor activities. Plus, I’m not the best on a leash and new things can make me a little nervous, so having a safe and secure yard where I can play without worry sounds like a dream. But let me tell you, when it comes to snuggles, I’m the absolute best. I’ll cuddle up with you for hours on end, bringing joy and warmth to your home every single day. However, I can be a grumpy mold man and when I have had enough cuddling, I am not shy about letting you know.  While I have never bitten my foster mom or the Vet, it wouldn’t be truthful to say I never tried.  Luckily they have quick reflexes, because when I get crabby, I get crabby, if you know what I mean. I am prone to allergies and ear infections. To keep these in check, I am on the Adored Beast Leaky Gut allergy protocol.  I also eat raw rabbit, which is the best protein source for me.  I love it so much, there are no words!  I do still struggle with ear infections, regardless, and need weekly ear cleanings as well as daily ear drops.  All in all, my allergies have improved considerably since I started on this yummy food and supplements but they will be a life long challenge. I do also have dry eye, fairly common to my breed and I just need an eye drop in each eye, twice a day.  I don’t mind this at all because I know it will make my eyes more comfortable. Lastly, I was recently diagnosed with a grad 1-2 heart murmur, however I have exhibited no symptoms of heart disease. So if you’re looking for a an older gentleman who is a bit set in his ways but very sweet, a pup who’s just as happy playing with toys as he is snuggling up on the couch, then look no further—I’m your guy, Archie, ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! P.S. My foster has chickens and ducks and I am fine with both, even when they free range around me. Based on this, I probably would not care about cats. Lastly, I LOVE car rides and am happy to have you brush me as much as you want! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, I’m Simone! I’m a 7-year-old Shih Tzu, and if you’ve ever dreamed of having your own personal Ewok, I might just be the gal for you! At 10 pounds, I’m the perfect size for snuggling up on the couch or being carried around—which is something I love. I’m a laid-back little lady who enjoys exploring the yard (though I do get a little sneaky and might try to crawl under a fence if there’s a gap). When we’re out and about, I’m calm but prefer being held over walking on a leash. I’m not fully potty trained yet, but I’m working on it. I do well on a leash for short potty breaks and exercise, but I sometimes freeze and need a little encouragement. A family with patience will help me continue to improve! At home, I’m an excellent companion—I can be left alone outside of a crate without getting into trouble, and I’m just as comfortable resting in a crate if needed. I have dry eyes and need a little extra TLC with my eye drops and ointment, but I’m very cooperative about it. Soft food is my preference since I only have a few teeth left, but I’m not picky about treats! I get along with cats, kids, and even big dogs. If a playful pup gets too rowdy, I’ll simply walk away to do my own thing—no drama here. I bark only when alarmed, so I’m generally a quiet, respectful housemate. Whether it’s car rides, lounging at home, or being your winter snuggle buddy, I’m happy just being by your side. Are you ready to make some cozy memories with me? Let’s do this! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi, I’m Bash! I’m a 3-year-old Shih Tzu with a sweet and gentle soul. I might seem a bit shy at first—I like to take my time to warm up to new people and places. When I first arrived here, I felt safest in my crate and needed some space. Now, I like to hang out in the same room as my humans and feel much more at ease. I’m doing really well with my house training, especially when I’m kept on a schedule. My crate is my little safe haven, but I do prefer to sleep close to my people at night. I’ve recently discovered how much fun toys can be and love to play with other dogs. Treats are also pretty awesome, and spending time in the yard is one of my favorite things. Sometimes loud noises and busy places make me a little nervous, and I’m still getting the hang of leash walking. I might freeze up on walks, but with a bit of patience, I’m slowly building my confidence. I’d love a fenced yard so I can feel free and safe while I explore. There’s a playful, happy dog inside of me, and I know that with time, love, and trust, my true personality will shine even more. I even do a little dance when I’m excited! I’m ready to find a family who understands that I just need a bit of patience and kindness to bring out my best self. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi, I’m Lilla! I’m an 8-year-old Shih Tzu with a heart full of sweetness and a love for life’s simple joys. At 14 pounds, I’m the perfect size to cuddle up with, and I’ll be your constant companion if you let me. One of my cutest quirks? I love carrying a toy around wherever I go—it’s like my little security blanket! I’m friendly, gentle, and great with everyone, including kids and cats. I respect the feline friends in the home and always mind my manners. I’m potty trained and can use both a potty pad and go outside. I also know how to settle in my crate, though I might give a little bark at first—I’ll quiet down quickly. I’m not a pro at leash walking just yet, so I’d love a home with a fenced yard where I can roam and do my business comfortably. I don’t need another dog in the home as long as you’re around most of the time, but I wouldn’t mind the company either. What matters most to me is having loving humans who enjoy my sweet, laid-back personality. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who will brighten your days and warm your heart, I’m ready to meet you!
