Rescued: 7/19/2022 Age at the time of rescue: 3 years Current weight: 8 pounds What an amazing survivor! Cruiser has beaten the odds and is living his best life, but we know he deserves more than a shelter life. He was hit by a car and never take to a veterinarian for evaluation. His spinal column was crushed leaving him without the ability to control his bowel or urine heartbreakingly. He uses his diapers and is such a good boy! Full of energy, love and desire for life. He is fast in his wheelchair and loves running around. We are looking for a home that understands his challenges, but welcomes his passion for life. We provide him some special food to help with his challenges, but he's thriving! Fully vetted, sterilized and ready to fly home with his wheelchair! I may be a senior, but let me tell you, I’ve still got plenty of love and energy to go around. I’m a total indoor dog—I mean, who needs the great outdoors when you’ve got all the cozy comforts of home, right? Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m perfectly content to do my business outside and then hurry back indoors for some quality snuggle time. Toys? Oh, I can’t get enough of them! Soft, crinkly, you name it—I’ll play with anything you give me.  I do not need a fenced yar, as long as you always go out with me.. Sure, I enjoy the occasional walk, but I’m not dependent on it for bathroom breaks. I’m more of a in-and-out kind of guy when it comes to outdoor activities. Plus, I’m not the best on a leash and new things can make me a little nervous, so having a safe and secure yard where I can play without worry sounds like a dream. But let me tell you, when it comes to snuggles, I’m the absolute best. I’ll cuddle up with you for hours on end, bringing joy and warmth to your home every single day. I am prone to allergies and ear infections. To keep these in check, I am on the Adored Beast Leaky Gut allergy protocol.  I also eat raw rabbit, which is the best protein source for me.  I love it so much, there are no words!  My allergies have also improved considerably since I started on this yummy food and supplements.  I do also have dry eye, fairly common to my breed and I just need an eye drop in each eye, twice a day.  I don’t mind this at all because I know it will make my eyes more comfortable. So if you’re looking for a loving companion who’s just as happy playing with toys as he is snuggling up on the couch, then look no further—I’m your guy, Archie, ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! At just 6 months old and 10 pounds, I’m full of curiosity, kindness, and lots of love for both people and other dogs. I’m happiest running around with a plush toy or ball, playing fetch, or even tossing the ball to myself—I’m easily entertained and know how to have a good time! I’m working hard on potty training and am super close to getting it, especially if we stick to a good schedule. I’m crate-trained, too, and feel safe and cozy in there when I need a nap. I love the freedom of a fenced yard to explore and sniff to my heart's content, so having a yard is a must for me! I can spend hours sniffing around outside, just hanging out and taking it all in. I adore being with my humans and following them around the house, and I’m great with kids. While I get along with all dogs, I’d especially love a dog buddy around my size to play with. If my humans are home often, though, I’d be totally happy being their one-and-only pup. One thing to know about me is that car rides aren’t really my thing. I get a little shaky and nervous, though I stay put and try my best. So, if you’re more of a homebody and like local adventures, I’d fit right in! If you’re looking for a silly, sweet, and loyal little friend who loves the outdoors and wants to be by your side, I might just be your perfect match. I’m a 7-year-old Shih Tzu, and if you’ve ever dreamed of having your own personal Ewok, I might just be the gal for you! At 10 pounds, I’m the perfect size for snuggling up on the couch or being carried around—which is something I love. I’m a laid-back little lady who enjoys exploring the yard (though I do get a little sneaky and might try to crawl under a fence if there’s a gap). When we’re out and about, I’m calm but prefer being held over walking on a leash. I’m not fully potty trained yet, but I’m working on it. I do well on a leash for short potty breaks and exercise, but I sometimes freeze and need a little encouragement. A family with patience will help me continue to improve! At home, I’m an excellent companion—I can be left alone outside of a crate without getting into trouble, and I’m just as comfortable resting in a crate if needed. I have dry eyes and need a little extra TLC with my eye drops and ointment, but I’m very cooperative about it. Soft food is my preference since I only have a few teeth left, but I’m not picky about treats! I get along with cats, kids, and even big dogs.
