Suzy qualifies for our Senior-To-Senior program, and can be adopted by a senior human for $75. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Meet Salvador! Salvador aka Sal is a 7-month-old puppy with a personality as big as his heart! This little guy is full of energy and love, and he’s looking for his forever family to share his playful spirit and cuddly nature with! His favorite activities include playing with his foster fur siblings, chasing squeaky toys, and enjoying a yak chew. When it’s time to wind down, he’s the #1 cuddler, always ready to give the best puppy hugs and snuggles! Sal is a blend of outgoing and laidback - he is social and loving, curious and playful, snuggly and silly. Sal is smart and treat motivated, making training enjoyable and smoother for all. He has learned many basic commands like "sit", "shake", "lay down", "outside", "crate", and his name. Sal is fully potty trained and fully crate trained - he even sleeps through the night in his kennel! He is working on leash training. Sal is great with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He is also really great with kids of all ages. His ideal family would be one that’s fairly active, possibly with children and/or another young dog around his size to match his playful energy. Sal prefers dogs who are the same size or larger than him. He could be the only dog in the home with someone who is committed to his socialization and training. If you have an adult dog, your dog will accompany you to the meet and greet to assist with the selection process. Adoptions are based on connection and chemistry! Adoption Fee: $325 This fee covers spay/neuter when age-appropriate, vaccines to date of adoption, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health. Sal is scheduled for neuter at the end of March. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Story
MEET Clover: Clover is our brave 14 lb, 5-year-old Shih Tzu who recently entered an animal control shelter as a stray. This precious girl was in dire need of help. She arrived matted and overgrown, her fur a tangled mess on all four legs and round her eyes. Her back left leg was non-weight bearing. She was shaved down and given a bath. Clover’s situation worsened, and the remains of her left rear leg had separated, leaving just a small piece of necrotic tissue. On Feb. 4th she entered our rescue and on Feb. 5th she had emergency surgery to remove what was left of her back left leg. We are ecstatic to report she is doing great after surgery. She is walking on the 3 remaining legs. Clover got her surgery staples removed at our vet office in Rochester on Feb.19th. Clover is looking for her furever home, it’s important for her future family to know she would thrive in a space without stairs, making it easier for her to move around and enjoy her surroundings. Older dog savy children would be best for her due to her just learning to walk on 3 legs. Clover is breaking out of her shell. She is being to approach her foster to get attention, pets, and treats.. She isn't a fan of being a lap dog, but she does like to sit on the couch next to her foster. Clover is beginning to play with her toys. Clover is house trained. She will need to be leashed walk to go outside or will need a fenced in yard or dog run. She will not be a condidate for a tether system. Clover is also crate trained. She is crated at night and when her foster is not at home for her own safety. Clover prefers to be out of her crate during the day to explore or just rest in her dog bed.  She gets along with other dog that have low energy. Let’s find Clover that perfect home where she can feel loved and secure!
