Story
**Meet Queso!**
Queso is a 10-month-old, 10.5 pound female Shih Tzu / Brussels Griffon mix (best guess based on appearance) with a heart full of love and a personality that will steal yours! She’s an adorable little fuzz ball with a funky nose and underbite that add to her quirky charm. She’s just such a happy pup and loves everyone!
Despite her young age, Queso is already house-trained, having only had one accident indoors early on and sometimes when she’s so excited to be getting attention since she didn’t get much in her former home... She’s also crate-trained and sleeps peacefully through the night in her kennel without making a sound. She's not the biggest fan of being groomed, especially around her eyes, so she'll need to go to a professional!
This playful pup doesn’t bark—though she may let out a cute little whine if she needs something like toys to play with. She is a chewer & can be destructive when she gets into things if unsupervised, so her new people will have to continue with her training (especially crating when alone), exercise her well, and provide her with lots of chew toys!
She adores other dogs and is always eager to make new furry friends, however, her energy can be too much for some dogs, so she won't be a good match for a home with older dogs or lazy dogs that won't tolerate her high energy / play with her all the time. Queso is great with kids, although her playful energy might be a bit overwhelming for very young children, so a home with kids aged 5 or older would be ideal. She doesn't mind cats, but if the cat runs, she will definitely chase and her high energy can be too much for cats! For that reason, she will not be suitable for a home with feline friends.
With her endless energy, Queso loves to play and will need an active home where she can run and burn off some of that puppy excitement. She does tend to jump up for attention, but listens well when corrected. On walks, she’s generally a good leash walker, though she might tug a bit out of curiosity. Queso rides well in the car and is quick to settle down and nap in the back seat.
While she’s still learning basic commands like “go to bed” (for the crate) and “down,” she’s a quick learner and eager to please. Queso’s absolute love for life is contagious—she adores people, dogs, and just about everything else. She loves attention and affection, and nothing makes her happier than cuddling up at your feet or being near her humans.
Though she’s not an escape artist, a fenced yard would be best to ensure her safety when she’s playing outdoors. She would thrive in most loving homes, whether it’s with a family or a single person, and would do well with or without another dog that can tolerate her in the home. Would be best if she's not in a city setting as she's never been exposed to that and can be frightening. While she’s full of energy now, with consistent love and attention, she’ll likely calm down and could potentially be a great work buddy in the future.
Queso is a little love bug who’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of snuggles to her forever family!
