I have a fluffy, medium-length coat that’s perfect for petting, and floppy ears that make me even cuter! I’m a very affectionate dog – I love snuggling up with people and showing them how much I care. I’ve been in homes with young kids, and I was great with them! I’m obedient, playful, and always ready for a good time. I love squeaky toys, and I’m also protective of my people... I think I'm a guard dog! I was surrendered by my previous owner because their apartment wouldn’t allow dogs, but now I’m looking for a new home where I can be loved and spoiled. Where to begin? I'll tell you about this dog named Bandit. He's around 3 years old. A Shih tzu mix, he wears a long, soft coat of black and tan, and weighs only 16 pounds. It's because of his small size that any children in your home should be at least10 years old. Small children don't always realize their own strength and might unintentionally hurt such a small dog. But there are many ways to hurt another, aren't there? Bandit is a wonderful dog who gets along with other dogs, kids and his foster's cat. Still, his previous owner took him to the vet to be euthanized because she &#194&#147no longer wanted him.&#194&#148 It hurts to even think about that, doesn't it? We're doing all we can in rescue to make him forget that, and we know you will, too. (TN, posted 12/11/24) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. He gets excited around other dogs and wants to play. He is sensitive so you have to be gentle, but once you show him you are his friend, he likes to run and chase squeaky toys when you play with him.
