I am a sweet boy, UTD, neutered, and completely house trained!! The vet says I weigh 17.9 pounds. I love to learn and I am quite smart. My foster Mom says I'm easy to train and I have learned to sit and stay in the short time I have been with her.I walk well on a leash, but would LOVE a fenced yard to play in. I am a big fan of playing fetch so it would be fun to have somebody to play with. I get along with kids, dogs and cats.I will try to guard my home and family. Meet Russell! Russell is an almost 12 year old shihtzu. He is your classic old man, a very lazy guy who can be a bit grumpy, but is harmless (and toothless). Russell has some senior guy medical issues. He does have a heart murmur that requires 3 pills a day, so he’ll need someone that can afford his medications and keep up with the occasional echocardiogram to check on his heart. He is also a very picky eater with a sensitive stomach, not uncommon of a guy his age, and it’s hard to find things he likes to keep weight on him. He is still underweight. Despite his quirks, Russell is a sweet gentleman and foster mom loves him to pieces. To his person, he is as loyal as they come. He will follow you everywhere. He doesn’t love cuddles but he loves to stay close to you. He would prefer a low key, quiet home where he can nap without much interruption. He isn’t a good fit for rowdy dogs or small children. Russell doesn’t need much attention but he prefers to be around his person all the time. His perfect situation would be a very relaxed home where his person can be home with him most of the time. Hard to find his “off” button and could use some work on manners and potty training, but this youthful silly goose on the loose is totally worth it! Gerald is a 6 year old, recently neutered male shih tzu mix. Whatever his mix is, it made him leggy and he has an adorable underbite that makes his bottom canines pop out. Sky was purchased from a pet store. She is 8 years old. Sky is a very independent and relaxed dog. She is house trained, but will have accidents if left alone too long. She has never been crate trained. She sleeps in bed with me at the foot of the bed. She is very kind, never once showed any aggression towards a person. She is a little skiddish around large groups of people and will typically hide when this occurs. She sits at my feet when im relaxing watching tv. She is not much of a barker unless she is extremely excited or see another dog outside (which excites her). She knows a few tricks when offered treats and is just an amazing dog. The only reason I am giving her up is because I need to be mobile at a moments notice due to the health of a family member. I will be very picky as to who takes her, because she is my world and I want to make sure she is being given to another family that will love her and treat her just as I have. She deserves nothing less.

I am around 4 years old and came from a situation with some other pups where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I haven't had much experience with this big ole world but I've been doing better with encountering new things (I might need a minute but I get there). I would probably do best in a quieter home where my person(s) work from home or are retired. I do have some cataracts developing and would benefit from having surgery. I can see but sometimes maybe not all that clearly. I do great with people once I get to know them but would probably do best in a home with just older kiddos. I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. And I'm also crate and house trained! I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was just to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet!
