Story
Bosco is ready to find a home!
Bosco was found on a gravel road and taken to Scott County Humane Society. He was matted to the skin and they medically shaved him. We pulled him out and got him straight to our vet. His body condition score was 2/9, his back and hip bones were sticking out and he had scabs all over his body. One of his eyes had ruptured , the other was infected, he was dehydrated, and had a urinary tract infection. His bloodwork showed that he was anemic and his body was fighting an infection.
As soon as Bosco had gained enough weight, he had his first surgery. His painful ruptured eye was removed, and his umbilical hernia was repaired. Bosco recovered from that very well and had a second surgery to do his neuter, dental, and fix the cherry eye in his other eye.
Now, Bosco is a healthy, happy 6-year-old Shih Tzu who’s ready to live his best life! He’s playful, loves squeaky toys, and enjoys hanging out with other small dogs (he’s only 11 pounds!). He is incredibly affectionate and loves being around his humans – so much so that he sleeps snuggled up close to his foster mom every night and doesn’t move a muscle! Bosco is also very food motivated – if you have treats, you’ve got a best friend for life. And whether you’ve been gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours, Bosco will greet you like you’re his hero.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Bosco may be the perfect match for you! He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. Bosco will thrive in a home with a physically fenced yard where he can safely run and play.
