Story
Meet Emilia, a sweet and loving seven-year-old, 15lb Shih Tzu who has been rescued from a life of breeding in a puppy mill. The hardships she endured are evident on her precious face, but Emilia's spirit remains unbroken. She is ready to leave her past behind and spend her best days in a home filled with love and care. Emilia will need some help with leash walking and potty training, but she gets along great with dogs of all sizes. This resilient girl is ready to receive all the love she deserves and give plenty of affection in return. If you're looking for a loyal, gentle companion, Emilia is waiting to meet you! Emilia is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Winifred! This sweet but shy gal is an 8.5-year-old, 20lb Shih Tzu who is looking for a forever home where she can relax and come out of her shell! She is a low energy girl, preferring to spend her days relaxing nearby and taking in the world around her. Winifred was rescued from a puppy mill so she is slowly starting to learn that she is safe. She is unsure of people at first but doesn't seem to have a mean bone in her body despite her past. If you hold her and pet her she will slowly wag her tail. She is fostered with other dogs and does well with them. She is happy to rest in her crate and is still working on potty training. Winifred doesn't really know what dog toys and a dog bed are, but she would love to learn! Her favorite thing to do is spend time outside soaking up the sun or to take a nap in the grass. Winifred would love a kind, patient home that will give her a safe place to rest and be loved. If this could be you, then apply for Winifred today! Winifred is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Meet Rita! Rita is a 7-year-old, 10-pound Shih Tzu who is looking for a special home that can help her learn about love and trust. As a former puppy mill mama, Rita has had a difficult past and is understandably very shy around people. She prefers the comfort of her dog friends, so a home with another calm, confident dog would be wonderful for her. Rita isn't quite ready for outdoor walks just yet, but with time, patience, and gentle encouragement, she'll start to blossom in her own way. She needs a quiet, understanding family who can give her the space to come out of her shell at her own pace. She will require a fenced yard. If you have the patience and a big heart to offer, Rita will be forever grateful for a chance to experience a safe and loving home. Rita is being fostered in the Cincinnati area. Story
Sky was purchased from a pet store. She is 8 years old. Sky is a very independent and relaxed dog. She is house trained, but will have accidents if left alone too long. She has never been crate trained. She sleeps in bed with me at the foot of the bed. She is very kind, never once showed any aggression towards a person. She is a little skiddish around large groups of people and will typically hide when this occurs. She sits at my feet when im relaxing watching tv. She is not much of a barker unless she is extremely excited or see another dog outside (which excites her). She knows a few tricks when offered treats and is just an amazing dog. The only reason I am giving her up is because I need to be mobile at a moments notice due to the health of a family member. I will be very picky as to who takes her, because she is my world and I want to make sure she is being given to another family that will love her and treat her just as I have. She deserves nothing less.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Bandito - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous folks out there, I'm here in search of a home, a family...one I can say is ALL mine!! Since you're reading this, I'm hoping it could be with YOU!! I am around 4 years old and came from a situation with some other pups where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I haven't had much experience with this big ole world but I've been doing better with encountering new things (I might need a minute but I get there). I would probably do best in a quieter home where my person(s) work from home or are retired. I do have some cataracts developing and would benefit from having surgery. I can see but sometimes maybe not all that clearly. I do great with people once I get to know them but would probably do best in a home with just older kiddos. I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. And I'm also crate and house trained! I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was just to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet! If you would like a BFF to help you with your errand runs, a constant in your life to share in your joys and sorrows, a cohort to sneak off exploring some nature trails...oh my, I AM your boy!!!! I come in at about 19lbs of pure love ready to unleash it ALL on you. If you think we could be a perfect match please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org
