Story
PWRESCUE.ORG **PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY** Meet Ozzie and Oreo, a delightful senior pair of sweet, shy companions looking for a peaceful haven to enjoy their golden years. Ozzie, a Havanese mix, and Oreo, a Shih Tzu mix, are both 9 years old and ready to retire in a loving, quiet home. This charming duo seeks a serene environment where they can be the center of attention. They would thrive best as the only dogs in the household, allowing them to soak up all the love and care you have to offer. A home without young children would be best, as they prefer a tranquil setting to unwind. Despite their age, Ozzie and Oreo have plenty of affection to give. Adopting them means offering a cozy, quiet and low key retreat for their twilight years while enjoying the special joy of their loving companionship. They both have a bit of a vocal streak, making them not suitable for apartment or condo living. Ozzie and Oreo are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00 for the pair. If you’re ready to provide this sweet pair with a loving home, please visit https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adopt" button to complete an application.   Pathways Home Animal Rescue November 4, 2024, 2:59 pm

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG *PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY* Yoda is an adorable one-year-old, 11 pound Terrier/Shih Tzu mix in search of his forever home after being found as a stray.  His distinctive name reflects his wild ears and playful expression, reminiscent of the small, wise character from Star Wars. As a young and active pup, Yoda is full of energy and always eager to engage in play and wrestling matches with other dogs. He brings a sweet and silly demeanor that is sure to charm anyone he meets. To thrive in his new environment, Yoda would greatly benefit from an active home with another dog, where he can learn and develop good behaviors through play and interaction. Additionally, having a fenced yard would be an ideal setup for him, allowing him to run and romp freely with his furry friends. With the right companions and space to play, Yoda is sure to flourish and become a cherished part of any family. Because he was found as a stray, we don't know his history with children, so any children in the home should be older and of a gentle, respectful nature.  He has not been cat tested, so cats are an unknown. Yoda is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.  If you are interested in this sweet boy, please visit our website at:  https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adopt" button to complete an application.  His adoption fee is $380.00.Pathways Home Animal Rescue December 19, 2024, 10:16 pm

Story
Peanut, a thirteen-year-old, 11-pound Shih Tzu mix, is a mellow senior with a heart full of calm companionship. This laid-back little fellow enjoys being near people but isn’t one to demand constant attention. Peanut is perfectly content exploring a yard at his own pace, pausing to “water” his surroundings, and showing little concern for who might be nearby. He’s not particularly interested in toys or treats but delights in quiet moments and gentle affection. Peanut is easygoing around other dogs, neither reactive nor eager to engage. He allows polite greetings but prefers to do his own thing, making him a peaceful addition to a home with other pets. He’s also completely comfortable with being touched and handled, including sensitive spots like his paws and tail, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a relaxed and low-maintenance furry friend. Peanut is a Guardian Angel dog with an adoption fee of $225. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable and command an increased adoption fee. This higher fee is used to defray the costs of caring for rescues with special needs, either medical or behavioral, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way our Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! Adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm by appointment by calling 602-971-1334.

Story
Clyde is a sweet 10 year old Shih Tzu.boy who lost his home because after having him 10 years, his owners decided he is not good around their kids. He did not deserve to be given up on just because he is aging. Additionally they allowed him to become very overweight which could definitely contribute to his sometimes grumpy mood. We have not observed any bad behavior here at the rescue. He is really a nice dog, easy to have around and not at all demanding. He is in good health, fully vetted and ready for a new home and a Weight Watchers membership. It is imperative that his new Adopter keeps him on a diet to help him reduce his weight. He's clearly not comfortable how he is. He would love the yard to run around in as well as to bask in the sun. He may need some forced walking to help with retrieving the waistline he once enjoyed. according to his former owners, Clyde is housetrained. Clyde is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Clydes's Adoption fee is $275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Story
Lulu is a cute 6 year old Shih Tzu girl who is laid back and loving.. She is confident and seems friendly with all people she has met. She gets along fairly well with the dogs at the rescue but we feel she would do best as an only dog in an adult home. She walks well on a leash and does well in the car. She is gold and white and weighs approximately 18 lbs but is on the heavy side and could afford to lose a few pounds. Lulu has occasional accidents in the house so she will need close observation and some reinforcement with her training. She loves to play with toys and chew on her bones and treats. Lulu is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Lulu's adoption fee is $375 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. Story
Neo is a handsome black-and-white Shih Tzu who was Surrendered by his owners because they no longer have time for him. He is eight years old and he would love to be the only dog in the household. He has never live with other dogs, and at the Rescue he is not very happy being around all the other dogs. He is a sweet boy, however, and he loves his people, and is very loyal. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how well house trained Neo is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. He is very eager to please. Neo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Neo's adoption fee is $325 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee.
