Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Sunshine, and I am a sweet Shih Tzu girl who was born 6/1/21 and I weigh 9 pounds.  I am shy at first and take some time to warm up to you. Once I am comfortable, I will come up to you for pets and follow you everywhere. I would do best in a calm, quiet home with a fenced in backyard. If you have been waiting for a beautiful shih Tzu baby, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Sunshine 081724-11  November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm

Story
Meet Sweet Sissy! Sissy came into rescue as a quiet, fearful little thing but with time and consistency quickly blossomed into an outgoing confident little lady. She is both engaging and affectionate. Sissy is a pretty little golden Shih Tzu with an endearing habit of tilting her head when spoken to as if she is hanging on your every word. Sissy came into rescue with two other dogs and seemingly gets along with all the others currently in the rescue. Despite not having an optimal early start in life, she is now an engaging happy go lucky pup. Sissy's resilience and affectionate disposition makes her a fun loving life partner. Sissy is about 3 years old and weighs 12 lbs. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Sissy is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. Sissy is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Sissy's adoption fee is $450 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Lane came to us as a stray dog. While he most certainly had a home, we were unable to find his owners. He was not in the best condition and suffered from neglect but surely he was loved as he is so loving to people. He greets you up on two legs happily bouncing to announce his joy of your arrival. He responds gregariously to your happy voice and encouragement. Lane also feels better now as he had his horribly rotten teeth cleaned and extracted as needed. Lane is estimated to be 10 years old and while his clouded eyes make him look older, his jubilant personality makes him seem much younger. Lane deserves a home where he will be so loved and well cared for. He is a very slight guy weighing about 9 lbs and an absolute peach on the grooming table. We will certainly miss this exhuberant dog when he leaves us but we know he will bring his new owners as much joy as we hope they have to offer him. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well house trained Lane is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. Lane is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Lane's adoption fee is $325 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Story
Neo is a handsome black-and-white Shih Tzu who was Surrendered by his owners because they no longer have time for him. He is eight years old and he would love to be the only dog in the household. He has never live with other dogs, and at the Rescue he is not very happy being around all the other dogs. He is a sweet boy, however, and he loves his people, and is very loyal. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how well house trained Neo is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. He is very eager to please. Neo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks.
