We just welcomed 12 year spayed female shih poo Willow. Willow is 17 lbvs. She has been very sweet with the other dogs at the foster home. We have discovered she has Cushings which is very mangeable. Cushings doesn’t cause blood sugar issues. It’s a hormone issue that causes too much cortisol to be produced. They generally need low fat, high protein, moderate fiber. A lot of people unfortunately don’t know much about it. It’s very manageable with Trilostane ! You will notice a difference immediately. Ms. Willow is a sweetheart (especially when treats are involved). She is loving (especially when she gets treats). Energy is boundless (especially near treats). You should montior her treat intake and makeup because of cushings, though. Cocoa is a fun social girl! She loves her toys and will require a large selection. She’s fun and playful. Does well on a leash and is 100% potty trained. She likes a good snuggle too being with you on the couch. She gets along great with dogs, cats, and all the humans. Cocoa had some bladder stones in the past but is controlling them now with special food and meds. She is spry and active and would benefit from a home that already has another dog.
