Story
Panko needs a home with no kids and no dogs. He has not been tested with cats. He is bonded to his humom most and is generally more drawn to women. He is a bit of a cuddle bug, so he would do best with a female as his primary caregiver and snuggle buddy. Panko has been with his family his entire life. He's always been a bit of an anxious dog, which causes him to guard his precious resources. It has always been manageable by eliminating high value treats and giving him his own safe space to eat his meals. After bringing home their 1st child, Panko's anxiety has increased significantly, making his guarding worse. His family recognizes it's not good for him to live with this high level of stress all the time and have made the difficult decision to rehome him. He will need a foster/adopter who understands or is experienced with resource guarding. He is currently working with a highly skilled and experienced trainer and is making amazing progress with counter conditioning. Adopters MUST be willing to have multiple meet and greets with Panko and begin working on training prior to placement. Continued training after placement will also be a requirement. Panko is house trained and was crate trained as a puppy but hasn't used it in a long time. He's a well-behaved boy, and in a home with no kids or pets, would not have a reason to be crated. We have dog tested him and he may be able to have dog friends in the future but will still need to be an only dog. Panko is used to getting 2 walks a day, which helps with his anxiety, so he will need a family who is active. Panko is a very sweet social Shiba. He loves meeting new people and getting scratches! He will always remember a new friend and will give a tail wag and want to say hello when he bumps into them. He has lots of energy and never tires on his walks. He is used to having a yard and loves to roll in fresh green grass and his favorite game is biting at the water from the hose. If you are interested in Panko, please fill out an adoption application ASAP! If you are already on our waitlist, please reach out to let us know you are interested. Story
Lola has been a beloved part of our family for 8 years after we rescued her as a puppy. She is an incredibly sweet, loyal companion who loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room. Lola is mellow, affectionate, and easy to live with—she enjoys pets, snacks, and relaxing on the porch with you for morning coffee. She is fully potty trained, kennel trained, knows basic commands (sit, stay, shake), and responds well to her name. She will bark to let you know when she needs to go out and is used to a dog door during the day. Lola is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations, with no known health issues. She has never shown any aggression toward humans. After a recent altercation with a smaller dog, we believe she would do best in a home without small animals or young children, and ideally with larger dogs or as the only pet.

Story
Meet Mandy, a lovely 11-year-old Shiba Inu weighing 20 pounds. This sweet senior girl is friendly, easygoing, and enjoys spending time with the people around her. Mandy has a gentle presence and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm and loving dog. She gets along well with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with a canine companion or as a laid-back solo pup. Mandy is also food motivated, which can make bonding with her and reinforcing routines both fun and rewarding. Mandy is ready to enjoy her golden years in a comfortable home where she can relax, feel loved, and be part of the family. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion, Mandy could be the perfect fit. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Meet Bubbles! Bubbles is a 10-year-old Shiba Inu weighing 32 pounds. She is a sweet girl who can be a bit nervous at first, but with time, patience, and understanding, she begins to open up and show her gentle personality. Once she feels comfortable, Bubbles enjoys calm interactions and can form a trusting bond with the right people who allow her to move at her own pace. She gets along well with other dogs and may benefit from their presence as she settles into a new environment, though slow and thoughtful introductions are always important. Bubbles is looking for a quiet, patient home where she can feel safe and supported as she builds confidence. She will require a securely fenced yard to help ensure her safety while she adjusts and explores her surroundings. A required in-person meet and greet is necessary to ensure a proper fit for both the canines and the family. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
