Story
Meet Sammie! Sammie is a sweet and loving Shiba mix who thrives in a calm, consistent environment. This 11-year-old pup struggles with anxiety, having spent much of his life as a stray. He is looking for a patient, experienced owner who can provide the structured routine and gentle care he needs to feel safe and secure. Sammie’s Needs: • A child-free, pet-free home: Sammie will shine as your one and only furry friend. • A calm and steady routine: Predictability helps reduce his stress. • Daily walks and outdoor time: Sammie loves walks and being active—it’s his favorite way to bond and unwind. • A patient, understanding owner: Someone willing to work with Sammie as he learns to trust and relax. • Plenty of treats and tennis balls. Treats help build trust, and running after tennis balls is Sammie’s favorite way to play.  What Sammie Offers: • Unconditional love and loyalty once he feels safe. • A walking buddy who will encourage you to stay active. • A deep bond that only comes from helping a special dog thriveJanuary 3, 2025, 3:14 pm

Story
Tobi and 3 of her siblings, Rocket, Sooner and Flora recently came to us from Oklahoma and are guessed to be around 5-1/2 months old. Tobi is guessed to be a Shiba Inu or Shepherd mix. Her markings are quite striking. Tobi is the more shy and quiet one of the four pups, and is ready to learn what it means to have a loving family. After 2 weeks in her foster home, Tobi is coming out of her shell. She is happy, running and playing with her foster canine friends! She’s grabbing toys and is sooo happy to be in a home. She’s a total doll ❤️ She will need another dog in her forever home to show her the ropes and how to "dog". She will need a patient home and one willing to let her get comfortable at her own pace. She is good with respectable kids, who understand to give her space as needed. She seems to be a little more nervous around male humans than female, and just needs more time to acclimate with males. She will need a fenced yard to go out to potty in and seems house trained, once on a regular schedule. Apply for Tobi today and come meet her in Ft Collins!

This sweet girl is quiet and submissive, she has a gentle soul and will be so excited to get out of the loud shelter. She's a good girl and gives good corrections if other dogs are too much for her. She's lived with a bunch of dogs before and would do great in a calmer environment. As of now, she may be a good apartment dog, she was pretty quiet and calm when I visited her in her kennel. We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.
