Story
HI THERE, I'M IVY, a 3-year-old Siberian Husky girl, currently in the Greater Seattle area. I've got a heart as big as a park and a spirit as bright as sunshine. I'm a sweet soul, always ready to share my warmth with you. I'm pretty smart too, I've been told. I love exploring, sniffing out new things, and can slip out of a collar in no time. I'm also quite independent, content to entertain myself, but I do love humans. Your company will my favorite pastime. I'm mellow for a husky, never one for unnecessary fuss. And I'm cuddly, I love a good snuggle. My curiosity keeps life interesting, and my gentleness makes me a great companion. I was rescued from a California shelter, where I had a kennel mate. But I can be a bit of an alpha girl, so my canine companion would need to be pretty special and understanding of my bossy girl ways. I truly am a people dog, and will be your shadow and welcome you home with a smile and a wag. I weigh about 55 lbs. Please email for an application.

MEET COLE! Cole is a 1-1/2-year-old Husky mix in need of a new home! Cole and his brothers and sister were rescued as infants when their mom (a husky-shepherd mix) found herself at a California shelter, nursing her pups. Cole and his brother Sully are currently in a foster home together near Seattle - Cole is the more outgoing of the two. Cole will do well in a quiet home with an active person or people who have patience, and can take him for walks, hikes and other outings. He would love to be adopted with his brother, too, but it's not mandatory. He weighs 74 lbs. Please email for an application. Thank you.

Story
MEET RED! Red is a 1-1/2-year old loving and highly intelligent dog in need of a forever home! He is currently in a foster home in the Greater Seattle area. Red is great mix of smart and loyal breeds. He is part German Shepherd and Rottweiler, with a few other breeds like Border Collie and Australian Shepherd thrown in. (We did a DNA test - we're happy to share it!). Red is such a great dog in many ways: He is dog friendly, kid friendly and active. He is eager to learn, and will be excited to continue his training with a human companion. (He currently went through obedience training!). He does well off leash on walks in the country, and has wonderful recall. Once he knows you, he does not run off. He is constantly looking for fun things to chase but will look to you for permission and “leave it” when told. Red is also praise motivated and a fast learner. He gets along well with other dogs (loves dog parks!) but needs some gentle correction when he first meets friends because he excites easily at play time. He loves to romp with similar energy dogs, and he would thrive in a pack. He has a strong prey drive, but with proper instruction he has left the cat alone in his current foster home. He is always looking to his person for guidance and commands. Red is also great with all people once he has been slowly introduced to them as his desire to guard his family comes naturally to him. He is not toy or food aggressive, and is crate trained. He loves going for car rides and can be left alone while running errands (he does get car sick now and then). For long trips he may need medication until he hopefully grows out of it. He gets bored easily, should not be left outside in the yard unattended and would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, and who can give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. At the end of the day, Red enjoys lying by your feet or next to you on a couch. He is a snuggler and wants to be close to his people. He's such an awesome dog and companion. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal and active dog and are excited to continue to be his partner in training, Red would be perfect for you. He weighs 70 lbs. Please email for an application.
