Story
To learn more about Bodey, please get in touch with his foster parent at michaelaturco@gmail.com Bodey is a vibrant, high-energy German Shepherd who embraces life with enthusiasm and a love for adventure. True to his breed, this strikingly handsome pup thrives on activity and needs both mental and physical stimulation to stay content. With his boundless zest for life and eager-to-please nature, Bodey is an incredibly intelligent and trainable dog who has already mastered several commands. Whether it's fetching a ball, going for long walks, or hiking in the woods, he is always ready for action! Despite his lively puppy-like personality, Bodey is a loyal and dedicated dog who loves to be near his people. He’s often found at your side, napping nearby or occasionally trying to curl up in your lap for some affection. Once he warms up to you, Bodey is playful and affectionate, but he doesn’t demand constant attention—he’s independent when he needs to be, but you might get a big, goofy kiss from him if he gets a little too excited! Bodey absolutely loves chew toys/tennis balls, a good nap, and especially long walks, ideally in the woods where he can explore to his heart’s content. He’s a very strong guy who’s still learning to manage his impulses and excitability, particularly when it comes to seeing other dogs while out on walks (he’s just so eager to make new doggy friends!). In the home, Bodey has made significant progress with his training and is house-trained and crate-trained, and he even puts himself to bed each night. His protective instincts make him a great companion, but he also requires an owner who understands his need for exercise and structure and can adequately provide that to him. His ideal home would be an active one with a good-sized, fully high-fenced yard for him to run around in to help burn off some of his energy. And if kids are in the home, we recommend older ones due to his size, strength, and excitability. Prior experience owning a German Shepherd or a similar high-energy breed is a plus. Bodey would thrive in a patient, stable environment—one without cats—where he can continue to grow and learn. With plenty of exercise, consistent training, and the right loving home, Bodey will be the most loyal, loving companion anyone could ask for. If you’re ready to open up your heart and home to an active, adventurous dog, Bodey just might be the perfect match for you!

Story
To learn more about Blaze, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Blaze will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) Meet our newest sled dog, Blaze! Like his ancestors, Blaze sure does make quick work of any trail he faces. He came to us in Northern VA from Dickenson County, VA, looking for a new home! Though he may look like a Husky, Blaze has been a chill guy. He has been extremely friendly and easygoing. His coat is quite beautiful and thick, so grooming is a must! Blaze looks like the handomest Husky, and acts like the best gentle giant! Blaze is a friendly guy who likes to greet everyone at their level with a gentle bounce up paired with some doggy kisses! He has done well on leash while in our care and has demonstrated a penchant for treats! He takes them gently and has performed the “sit” command. If you are prepared for plenty of face licks, peppy personality, and doggy antics, Blaze is your guy! Add some blaze to your trail and come meet this buddy today! Please check back for more details soon as we learn more about Blaze!
