Story
Here in Canada come meet him Name: Rainbow (20220510-03) Weight: 25 kg / 55 lbs Age: 4.5 years Gender: male Spayed/Neutered: Yes 5/03/22 Breed: Husky mix Colour: cream Neck size (for collar): Height (from top of head): Length (from nose to base of tail): Crate size recommended: L to. XL Good with women: yes Good with men: yes Good with kids: older children Good with other dogs: selective - will do best with females and calm males Good with cats: unknown House trained: not 100% but getting better Crate trained: yes Energy level: med/high - energetic Can be handled/touched: yes Barker: no Flight risk: maybe Food aggressive: Yes - once he learns that he will have constant meals this should subside Current food: Pulsar Walks on leash: yes but is a puller Leash reactive to people or dogs: may react to unknown dogs Rides well in car: yes, in crate Destructive: no Needs a home with a yard: yes Needs a home with another dog: should be only dog for now Can live in an apartment: no History: Came from Norway House. He spent his life tied up outdoors and is still getting used to being an indoor dog. Additional comments: Rainbow is a beautiful husky mix that was rescued in Manitoba. He has since travelled to Ontario in search of his forever home and is dying to meet you! Poor Rainbow was chained for most of his life and was attacked over and over again by neighbourhood dogs. Because he was chained he had no way to run away or defend himself from these attacks and has suffered some trauma because of this. He will need very slow introductions to other dog, and does best with females and calm and submissive males. Rainbow is an absolute sweetheart and loves people. It is so evident that he knows he’s been saved and is so thankful in the way he acts toward his humans. He just wants to cuddle and give love. He was recently groomed and was such a good boy! We are looking for a home for Rainbow that understands that he will be fear reactive toward dogs that he does not know, and are willing to work with him and show him that not all dogs are bad and that he will never be hurt or attacked again. Living in a home is still new to him, but he is making amazing progress with his housetraining! He is great in the car and loves car rides. His foster mom is confident that he will be very easy to train, he just needs to learn what is expected of him. Rainbow may show a bit of food aggression in the beginning, only because he was starved and had his food stolen by other dogs. Once he learns that he has a constant food source we are very confident that this will subside. We know his person is out there, do you have it in your heart to take a chance on him?

Story
Name: Griffin Breed: GSD Age/Sex: 10/7/2017/MN Known health issues: Seasonal Allergies, Addisons Disease Good with: Most dogs NO CATS. NO KIDS. NO DOG PARKS. Adult only home. Bite history: Yes Griffin is one of the biggest goofballs to come through Inugoya. He is definitely the class clown, and enjoys making you laugh! He is confident, sassy, and opinionated, but also incredibly sweet, endearing, and affectionate. Griffin is not an easy dog; he has behavioural management needs, anxiety issues, and has been recently diagnosed with Addisons Disease (Feb 2024). But none of this stops his zest for life! Even with his challenges, he is one of my absolute favourites, and a dog that I can always rely on. He is very environmentally confident, and easy to take everywhere. Once you have his trust and bond, his eyes are solely for you. Griffin is a very active boy, and loves to go on adventures. Hiking, swimming, running; he's your guy! He's dabbled in agility and lure coursing, and enjoys a game of fetch. He does get easily bored, and likes to keep things changed up and interesting. Griffin is a very vocal guy, and will tell you stories for days. He has excellent manners, lots of basic obedience skills under his belt, and is good for the vet and groomer. He is muzzle trained for times when needed. He is not oversized, and a perfect travel buddy. He can be picky with some dogs, but gets along with most of the foster crew here, both male and female. He however isn't looking for a doggie social circle, he wants to be with his person, and would be absolutely fine solo. Griffin is one of our longest rescue residents. He arrived Feb 2020, and has been waiting for his forever family to find him, ever since. He is a boy with extra challenges, but he is the most amazing, devoted soul. If you are Shepherd experienced, and are looking for a truly special guy, please consider Griffin ❤️ ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Atlas Breed: German Shepherd Dog Sex/DOB: MN 2/22/22 Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Confident, calm dogs. Patient Teenagers, that can actively participate in his training, may be okay. Dog savvy cats and 110% commitment to training if he is to live with cats. He is very determined/grabby in his play. NO DOG PARKS. Atlas is fun loving, goofy, very affectionate and handsome! BUT he is not the dog for everybody. If you LOVE training and enjoy working with more challenging dogs, read on! Atlas is a dog that bonds intensely to one person. If you want a dog that only has eyes for you, Atlas is your guy! He has come a very long way since arriving in my care, and is now quite confident out and about as long as everyone is neutral. But he is not a dog to let strangers approach or try and interact with. He has boundaries, and needs them respected. Atlas is it go anywhere, do anything type of dog. He absolutely loves to be with his person! Typical to many High Drive type shepherds, he can be a little vocal, and having patience is his biggest challenge. But he truly wants to work with you and cooperate. He does still have a little bit of handler conflict, and while he's very mouthy and oral, struggles with games of tug and similar because he does not want to create conflict with his handler. But he absolutely loves to bite and grab onto things. It's a work in progress, and with consistency and one-on-one I know this is a barrier he will overcome. Atlas is very athletic, and absolutely loves the water! He would do well in a wide variety of sports, and I would encourage his involvement due to his working brain needs, as well as confidence building. He's not likely a dog that's going to take you to multiple ribbons, but he's going to have an absolute blast with you, and you will achieve many personal goals together. He is absolutely not a dog for somebody that just wants a casual companion, and needs that daily engagement, to keep him happy and balanced. Due to his discomfort with new people, his successful adopters must be willing to meet him several times, before he will be potentially ready to leave. Patience, and time are key. He has made great strides, but change will be hard for him if that bond isn't there. I do not want to see him regress. His successful home must be committed to continuing his confidence building, and expanding his world and activities so that he can be his absolute best! Atlas is absolutely FULL of potential, and I can see him doing well in a wide variety of sport activities as he continues to gain confidence.
