Story
HANDSOME PANTS ALERT! Meet our handsome Odie. Odie is a 4-year-old male husky that weighs 57 pounds. DOB is 12-26-20. Odie was found as a stray in Parma. Odie has beautiful pale blue eyes. He is a typical husky that enjoys running around in our fenced in areas. He is fluent in husky—he woo-woos, howls and sings to you. He is a high energy boy who can pull on leash, especially when he sees a little animal run by. He knows the following commands of “sit, shake, and speak.” He enjoys all attention and will remind you to keep petting him if you stop. Odie will thrive in an active home with a fenced-in yard where he can run and play to his heart’s content. He is friendly, outgoing, and a happy boy. He is a sucker for all treats and bones. Odie is reported to be good with children. Odie is dog friendly with dogs his size or larger. No small dogs, cats, or rabbits for this big guy. Even though he does not like the crate, he will need to be crated if left alone for a long period of time. He is housetrained but will mark. Once he is neutered, that should resolve the marking. If you have dogs, a meet and greet is required. Odie is available for our foster to adopt program means you can foster him in your home until he has completed all his vetting which includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip and heartworm testing. If you are interested in adding this good boy to your home, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out a dog adoption application online to meet our big boy. Odie’s adoption fee is $160.

Story
Laika is a beautiful, smart 3-year-old German Shepherd. She loves chasing tennis balls, walks, and curling up for cuddles. Laika has a high prey drive and was unfortunately triggered by a cat laser pointer toy (even being life-long dog owners, we had never heard of them causing issues in dogs), which led to a form of OCD. Her OCD mainly involves chasing or fixating on shadows and lights, and although she’s been through training and is on medication, it still causes her some stress - especially in environments with a lot of movement, like homes with children or cats. She is e-collar trained and is particularly good at the place and heel commands while wearing her training collar. Laika is looking for an experienced dog owner (or owners) who can provide consistency, enrichment, and a pet-free, child-free household. If you think you might be the right fit for this special girl, we’d love to hear from you!

Story
Luke is another good boy ready to bring you laughter and only good things to your life. Luke is a male shepherd mix that weighs 72 pounds. He is 3 years old. He came to us as a transfer from the City of Cleveland Kennel which is bursting at the seams with adoptable dogs. Luke is very friendly, curious and playful. He is strong on leash and will pull so he will need a strong handler. He loves all people. He exudes golden retriever energy. Luke enjoys playing with toys but is especially a fan of tennis balls. He would play fetch with tennis balls all day long if he could. Recently, Luke had an interaction with children under the age of 10 and he was absolutely wonderful and respectful of the children. He would be a good addition to just about any household. He will excel with an active family that will take him on long walks or even become a running companion. Luke has shown great potential to be with other dogs. Compatability with cats is unknown. A meet and greet with your resident canine is required. Luke is available for adoption. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Luke. Luke’s adoption fee is $160. Black dog syndrome is real. Luke has been waiting at the shelter a few months now to be adopted. Luke is just awesome.
