Story
Hi, I’m Wiley, and I’m looking for my forever family.
I’m about a year old and am officially up to 39lbs, and while no one knows for sure, they think I might be a mix of German Shepherd, Border Collie, and Husky. What we do know is that I’m incredibly sweet, smart, eager to please, and love to play!
My journey hasn’t been the easiest—I was picked up as an emaciated stray and found myself at Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control. When my rescue and foster family saw my face (and guessed I’d need a personalized feeding plan), they knew they had to come get me. Since then, I’ve been learning what it means to be safe, loved, and cared for. Trusting life experiences is still a work in progress, but have come so far! I’m getting there!
I would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, and where I can go on walks, run, and use my nose—because let me tell you, I’m a fantastic sniffer! I love to be active and engaged, and I’m ready to keep learning with my forever family.
Tomorrow, I get to meet my rescue’s professional trainer, and anyone who chooses me will be able to continue this training (paid for by APL), until complete. This will help build a solid foundation and a strong bond between us!
If you’re looking for a smart, playful, and loyal companion, I’d love to meet you! Please help me find my forever. That’s all I’ve ever hoped for.
Wiley is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and has been 4DX tested. He would do best in a home with a physically fenced in yard so he can run and explore safely.
