Story
When he was found he was in great shape. His coat was immaculate, nails trimmed and simply stunning. We put out the word on social media trying to nd the owner. No one replied. It's like he had just stepped o a beauty pageant runway. He has the makings of a movie star. He loves the spotlight :-). Honestly he's The Complete Package. This breed is known for being great escape artists. They love being outdoors. Gregarious and people loving. These are not good guard dogs. They are natural athletes, thriving on vigorous exercise. Wants to be involved with his people as much as possible. It is preferable that someone who is well informed about this breed adopts him. However he's very chill for a Husky. Loves riding in the car. Very well mannered. House trained. Plays well with both small and large sized dogs. He's been going to doggy socialization classes but he was a natural from day one. He must go to an active household that likes be outdoors like hiking, running, long walks, etc. This is a breed that needs daily exercise. He will want to snuggle and crawl into your lap. He would love to have a family with kids. Mishka is very well behaved; however, he is large and gets very excited when he meets people. A small child might get toppled over. He has not been cat temp tested.  Age: 1.5 years  Weight: 42 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative  Temperament: Good with older sturdy kids ,dogs .  Training: house trained, crate trained, knows commands. Adoption fee $400. For questions, please email.   kbstine@emory.edu   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. October 3, 2024, 9:18 am

Story
Misha was found tied to RR tracks, emaciated and abandoned.  At rescue, she was taken to the vet and found to have  Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency.  This is not uncommon in shepherds and it is being controlled by adding a pancreatic enzyme,  Viokase-V, to her meals.  After testing less expensive options, it has been found that only  Viokase-V works with her body in order to maintain a healthy weight, satiation  and digestion.   Monthly cost of over $600.  She is also on Prozac daily as  maintenance.  An adopter will need to be able to manage her required monthly medication.    We are hoping a loving individual will step forward to foster or even foster to adopt. Misha is very sweet, submissive, playful, smart, and high-energy - she would do best in a home with another dog or some active kids/adults that will keep her engaged, and we can confirm she is great with cats (when she was with Janet briefly, one of the household cats would actually attack Misha and Misha's response was to run away!) She knows basic commands (come, sit, stay) and has the potential to learn much more with a little training. In short, she's a great dog with a lot of potential and would make an excellent family pet; she just needs a family that can commit to maintaining her health via this Viokase supplement. She loves toys but does not tear them up, and she has the same respect for household item. Age: 2 years  Weight: 47 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines Temperament: great with everyone, loves dogs, great with kids.  Training: House trained.   For questions, please email  ali.mentana@gmail.com   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. October 3, 2024, 9:18 am
