Story
🚨Foster or Foster to Adopt Needed🚨 Do you all remember sweet little Ollie who came to Ewenity back in November with two hurt front legs? Well, this sweet boy was adopted but unfortunately is too much for his current household, and due to no fault of his own seeking a new forever family. Pet's name: Ollie Age/DOB: 9 months Gender: Male (Neutering scheduled for 3/3/25) Weight: 36 lbs. Breed: Mini Australian mix Vaccinations: UTD Heartworm status: UTD Nexgard Spectra Tick/Flea status: UTD Nexgard Spectra Current location: Venice, FL Reason for rehoming: Ollie is very much in need of more space to be active which we are unable to provide. He has lots of energy and wants to run and play as much as possible, something we are unable to provide him with at our advanced ages. He is attention-seeking and nips when desires attention he feels he is not getting. Bite history: Ollie nips frequently for attention without breaking the skin. He did break the skin on a vet tech soon after coming out of anesthesia 2 months ago. He has never bitten us. Does pet like dogs: yes Does the pet like cats: unknown Does the pet like small children: yes House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Leash trained: yes Describe the pet's personality: Fun-loving, attention-seeking, loves being outside. He loves to run and jump, chase, search, and play tug of war with toys. He would be happier playing with other dogs and being outside more which we are unable to provide for him. He is very smart, and follows commands well, especially when rewarded with treats. He will on command sit, lie down, come, stay, and search. Pet's likes and dislikes: He likes constant attention and activity outside. He enjoys walks and sniffs and looks about constantly. He can swim once placed in our pool, though is reluctant to jump in on his own. He is an excellent natural swimmer. Ollie dislikes not getting his way. Any additional info you think an adopter should know: Ollie had a rough first 6 months as he was rescued after being thrown from a truck and fracturing both front paws. We had him for 3 weeks before his splints/casts were removed and he has improved amazingly well since. He had to relearn how to walk and run and has improved much quicker than anticipated. He has no significant limp anymore and can run very fast. His nipping and attention-seeking have become too much for us to handle, but hope Ollie finds a home that is better able to accommodate his needs. We would gladly speak to anyone about Ollie.
