*********************COURTESY POST ************************ Paquito was found as a stray at a very young age with a horrible skin condition. He was immediately taken into a rescue in Costa Rica where a long recovery started. Paquito has fully recovered into a handsome boy and wants to be with a forever family. He is a bit shy at first but with lots of treats he will be your best friend. Paquito is a 2 year old, male, sheltie/beagle mix, good with dogs, no cats, friendly to all, and simply needs a second chance. If interested, please email Sheila at sheilawork1605@gmail.com. *************** COURTESY POST************************

Story
Raquel is a sweet gentle 8 year old sheltie mix. She had one eye removed due to an infection. She is being fostered in a home with other dogs - some smaller and others bigger as well as a child. Raquel is spayed, up to date on her shots, and has no ongoing medical needs. She loves going to doggie daycare and enjoys being outdoors. She also walks well on a leash and does well in the car.. She does not have separation anxiety and would do well in any calm and loving family. If you live in Canada within 3 hours of Toronto and would like to meet Raquel and learn about our foster to adopt program, please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BLISSFUL came into rescue from a backyard breeder along with her sisters (Grateful and Thankful. She’s had her first two sets of vaccines, a microchip and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet and ready to find her loving family. We were told her parents are Collie/Mastiff mixes of around 55-60lbs but it’s just a guess on the weight she’ll grow to be. This playful, loveable and happy girl loves people and gets very excited when she meets new ones and especially so with people she already knows.  BLISSFUL is crate trained and sleeps soundly in it at night and will also nap in it quietly during the day. She loves to play with a variety of toys and especially likes the ones that squeak and the ones she can chase around. Tug-of-war with a rope toy is one of her favourite things to do but of course she does likes to win. Housetraining is going well and she hasn’t had an accident in the home for a couple of weeks now but she is taken outside often so it’s still a work in progress.  BLISSFUL is now fostered with our puppy trainer to build on the basic training she received from her fosters and she’s doing really well with it. The trainer has said she’s a very quick learner and one of the reasons being is that she’s highly food motivated. She does recommend that she be fed in her crate if other dogs are in the home until she learns to slow down when eating and not figure that once she’s finished hers, she can then go and eat theirs. She’s well socialized with a lot of dogs and they’re all sizes, breeds and temperament. She would definitely  suit a home with another dog but if she wax to be an only child she would need some home with her for a portion of the day. BLISSFUL’s ideal family is an active one who will take her on lots of walks and hikes on the trails to help her burn off that puppy energy. She’s adventurous so would always be up for one especially seeing as she travels so well in a vehicle. She hasn’t met a cat but if the dog is cat savvy and a slow monitored introduction is done while she’s leashed  then It’s quite possible they could live in harmony. She requires a fenced-in yard as she loves to run around and play outside (under supervision) and it will also keep her safe.  Children should be aged 6 and up plus be caring, gentle and loving towards animals. They also need to understand that puppies will chase, nibble on toes and generally be very playful. BLISSFUL’s spay is included in the adoption fee and as per our rescue agreement must be performed by the rescue by the time she hits 6 months of age. If preferred, the adopter can use their own vet and we’ll reimburse what we would’ve paid for it if it was performed at the Barrie SPCA as we use them for our spay/neuters. We just need a copy of the invoice and a picture of the pet (preferably in a cone or onesie) to do so. The reimbursement will only happen if the spay is done within the agreed upon age. We also need her adopter to be in agreement to continue her training so she can be the best trained dog possible. Our trainer is obviously willing to continue her training with you but you can take her to whichever trainer you choose.  If you’re interested in BLISSFUL and would like to meet her then please submit an adoption application to do so. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 30, 2024, 7:16 pm
