Story
Doug will soon be `paw-roled` from our Paws in the Pen program in partnership with the New Mexico Corrections Department, and is looking for his forever home! Each dog is paired with two inmate trainers and enrolled in an 8-week training program that is designed to equip the dog with a nice foundation of training that will help them succeed in their new home. Each of these dogs will go home potty and crate trained with a whole list of cues and basic behaviors; to ensure a successful adoption, we are providing four training sessions to adopters, so you can learn what your dog knows, and an invitation to weekly discounted drop-in classes. These dogs also go home with a biothane leash and collar, 6 months of heartworm prevention, are fully up-to-date on all vaccines and medications, and are spayed and neutered.Doug is a handsome, goofy boy, who brings a smile to everyone`s face. Silly, affectionate, playful, and full of energy. Doug was assigned to train with our most experienced handler, who has been working with Doug on productively channeling his energy, and he has come a long way in his training. He would thrive with a human that is confident and comfortable in their dog handling, and who would ideally be able to commit to the training classes included with the adoption. Though Dougie shouldn`t be placed with cats, he loves other dogs! Doug would make an excellent addition to a more active home, especially one with another dog he can play with.

Story
Nicko is one goofy dude, with a silly smile and a swagger when he walks. Speaking of walking, he`s pretty great on leash! And though he`s got a fair amount of energy, he`s best suited for neighborhood walks, not 14ers. Nicko would love to find a warm home for the holidays that will give him oodles of cuddles, let him couch surf, and take him on strolls through the neighborhood.
