Story
Hi there! This is Cooper. He's between five and six years old. My mom got him around five years ago. She was diagnosed with dementia three years ago and isn't capable of caring for him. Caregivers help take care of him. Cooper is a patient dog. He's adapted to mom's schedule as she transitioned from working full-time to retirement. When accepting treats, he takes them from your hand gently. He likes going for walks and playing more than he likes treats. It's very likely that Cooper had unpleasant experiences with men early in life, as he's generally more comfortable around women. Because mom didn't engage with him much when she got him, Cooper craves attention, physical touch, and play. It'd be ideal if a family with children could adopt him so he can get the attention he needs. As indicated in the key facts, he hasn't been trainedMuch to our surprise, he's never relieved himself indoors during the time he's lived with mom.

Story
Rusty is a 5-year-old neutered male who came to us as an owner surrender, Rusty was loved very much by his former family and had a wonderful life with them prior to coming to Peipeople. Rusty is standoffish with new people but with a few treats and a couple days he will open up quickly. He would benefit from socialization and basic obedience to build confidence and improve his leash skills as he was sheltered from the world previously. We have discovered he loves walks and keeps his nose plastered to the ground as he walks taking in all the smells. He takes home security seriously and will bark to alert you of any possible intruders. However past that it is up to you to do the true protection as he will bark then run away to avoid any visitors. He does warm up to women faster than men and after a few weeks with his foster family he has really bonded with both his foster mom and dad. He is fostered with 3 other dogs and is doing great! He is starting to learn how to play with other dogs and loves to run around the yard to get his zoomies out!  He is housebroken and figured out how to go out the dog door quickly. When Rusty’s foster family must go out, they leave him loose in the house with the front curtains open so he can see the world and he spend hours looking out at his kingdom. We would love to find a home who will give Rusty the time to settle in and become the best friend we see!  He seems interested in children and seems like he would do well with older kids, we would recommend 8+ due to his larger size and energy level. He is currently fostered in Fort Collins, CO   March 1, 2025, 2:42 pm

Story
Hi, I’m Manchas! I’m a shy and gentle guy who loves nothing more than some tasty treats (I’m a bit of a treat connoisseur)! I walk beautifully on a leash and never pull — I prefer to stay by your side. I’m affectionate and will stick close to my handler, always looking for comfort in your presence. While I may be a bit shy at first, I’m eager to explore the world with a little help and patience. With your love and guidance, I’ll blossom into the loyal, loving companion you’ve been waiting for!

Story
Whiskey is very sweet and loves to cuddle. He is potty trained. He’s good and playful with other dogs. Not great with cats, I don’t think he’s had much experience with them. He doesn’t want to hurt them but is very curious and wants to chase. He uses a crate when I am not home and sleeps in bed at night. He knows sit and listens well.. Will need a secure fence! Would thrive in an active family that can take him on regular walks & get him the exercise he needs.
