Story
Meet this lovable sweetheart, Miss Mabel! This gentle soul is about 10 years young and has a heart full of affection. The Foster stumbled upon her while checking the mail and couldn’t resist her charming presence. She’s been nothing but wonderful with everyone she meets, making new friends with a wag of her tail. Today was a big day for her—she walked around an entire baseball field! What an incredible achievement for this brave girl! Her next challenge? Conquering the stairs! She spends her days inside the home, so she might need a little guidance on being house-trained. Although she doesn’t have a microchip, we’ve started her on her first round of medications to help her skin and fur, as well as her eyes and ears. The good news? Her blood work came back healthy, which is a huge relief! PACA is on the lookout for a loving forever home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love and comfort. If you're looking for a sweet companion to brighten your days, this darling girl might just be the perfect fit! If you're interested in meeting Miss Mabel, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Miss Mabel into your home by clicking on this link https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155 The adoption fee covers all vaccines, spay, microchip, and heartworm/tick-borne illness testing.

Story
Hi, I’m Manchas! I’m a shy and gentle guy who loves nothing more than some tasty treats (I’m a bit of a treat connoisseur)! I walk beautifully on a leash and never pull — I prefer to stay by your side. I’m affectionate and will stick close to my handler, always looking for comfort in your presence. While I may be a bit shy at first, I’m eager to explore the world with a little help and patience. With your love and guidance, I’ll blossom into the loyal, loving companion you’ve been waiting for!

Story
Whiskey is very sweet and loves to cuddle. He is potty trained. He’s good and playful with other dogs. Not great with cats, I don’t think he’s had much experience with them. He doesn’t want to hurt them but is very curious and wants to chase. He uses a crate when I am not home and sleeps in bed at night. He knows sit and listens well.. Will need a secure fence! Would thrive in an active family that can take him on regular walks & get him the exercise he needs.

Story
Rusty is a 5-year-old neutered male who came to us as an owner surrender, Rusty was loved very much by his former family and had a wonderful life with them prior to coming to Peipeople. Rusty is standoffish with new people and would prefer a quiet home without children. He would benefit from socialization and basic obedience to build confidence and improve his leash skills as he was sheltered from the world previously. We have discovered he loves walks and keeps his nose plastered to the ground as he walks taking in all the smells. When he meets new people, he will bark and avoid in typical shar pei style. He does warm up to women faster than men and after a few weeks with his foster family he has really bonded with both his foster mom and dad. He is fostered with 3 other dogs and is doing great! He does not seem interested in playing with them but does enjoy their company and loves when his foster mom chases him around the house. He gets very excited, and the zoomies come out!  He is house broken and figured out how to go out the dog door quickly. When Rusty’s foster family must go out, they leave him loose in the house with the front curtains open so he can see the world and he spends hours looking out at his kingdom . We would love to find a home who will give Rusty the time to settle in and become the best friend we see!    He is currently fostered in Fort Collins, CO January 7, 2025, 11:16 am

Story
Sully (born in October of 2014) came to Safe Haven at 3 days old with his mom and 8 siblings, and he was adopted but his owners lost him in the desert. He was very relieved to find himself home again at the sanctuary after being alone in the desert, and he has been at the sanctuary ever since. He loves taking walks and getting attention from his people at the sanctuary, and he is hoping to find a new home with special people who will help him settle in.
