Hi, I’m Soul! I’m a 1-year-old Shar-Pei/Pitbull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. I’m at my happiest when kids or dog friends are around—I love being part of the action. I know no stranger, and I’m always eager to explore new places and say hello to anyone I meet. I love cuddles, toys, nature walks, and dog park adventures, and I learn quickly when treats are involved. I would benefit from additional training, as I am a young boy, with lots to learn! I’m looking for a family who can give me lots of love, fun, and guidance as I grow. If you’re searching for a loyal, energetic buddy, I’d love to be your new best friend.

Ellie, Mozzorellie, or NFL linebacker are just a few of her names came to us after quite the heist of sneaking out of another shelter and going on an adventure for months. Ellie arrived unsure, overstimulated, planning the next big escape, and not sold that people are actually nice. Over the past year at SOAR, she’s shown incredible progress in all ways. Ellie has never one time had an accident in her room, appears dog friendly, loves all people big and small, but we’re unsure on cats. Ellie is all about speed and playing chicken, she’ll run full steam ahead and ditch at the last second leaving you with soiled undies and a muscle cramp from bracing for impact. You WON’T find better forehead wrinkles, not even at a nursing home. The perfect home for Ellie would be active, older or no children, only dog or bigger dog friends, and if adopting to a house will minimally need a 6ft fully-fenced back yard.

Arthur boy is handsome & sweet. We think he will be good with other dogs because he came in with another friend. You can totally do a meet & greet with your dog. We think he will do well with kids 4+. We also think he might be potty trained. Cats are unknown. If you have any questions please email animalbehavior@kokomohumane.org. If you`re interested in fostering please email an application to outreach@kokomohumane.org. You can submit our adoption application on our website. The adoption fee is $150 which includes the spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, goodie bag to go home, free wellness exam and general care while here.

Meet Winnie, a 55 pound Shar Pei/Pit mix. Winnie is a homebody who loves to snuggle up on the couch with her people. We joke that she didn’t get the personal space gene when they were giving it out. Winnie has a sweet temperament, loves a good belly rub and a warm bask in the sun. She also loves her toys! You can catch her nibbling them endlessly, but don’t be fooled by her love of the soft ones; she loves gnawing on hard Nylabones as well.   Winnie will do best in a home with a fenced in yard where she is the only dog. She has never been introduced to cats or very small children, so we don’t know her reaction to them. “Win” will be a great win for the right family! Hi, I'm Bentley. My previous owner went to jail, so now I'm looking for a forever home with a law abiding citizen. I'm a sweet boy who does well with dogs, and people. I'm not so great with cats. I can be a touchy about my mouth being touched so older kids who can respect my boundaries would be OK, but no little ones please. I appear to be a purebred English Bulldog. Please do some research on the breed before applying. We are very prone to health problems because of our squashed in faces, and can be very intolerant to exercise. I'm around three years old and weigh about 63 pounds. I'm neutered, microchipped, current on my shots, and HW negative. I am crate trained and doing well on housebreaking, but will likely need a refresher in my new home. If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application and my friends with ARPO will be in touch! A home visit will be required so only homes in a 50 mile radius of Indianapolis should apply. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website at arporescue.org to learn more about our adoption process and complete our adoption application. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.
