Meet Stryker! Age: Senior Breed: Rottweiler Weight: 90 lbs Good with: Dogs House trained: Yes Crate trained: No, but not needed Stryker is THE BEST big boy (90lbs) ever! This gorgeous senior Rottweiler has no health issues other than some normal aging stuff (vision/hips) and was a loved pet for many years. Sadly, his human parents had to go into longterm care so he lost his home and fur companions. While he has not lived with kids in his foster home, he loves his people and it is believed he would do just fine with kids. This pup is truly a “dog’s dog” (has not been cat tested) and would benefit from a home with at least one other dog. He currently lives with multiple dogs of various sizes/energy levels and he enjoys them all. Stryker is a chill pup with lots of pep in his step. He loves taking walks and enjoying time roaming the yard in his foster home or lounging on the porch. A fenced in yard is not a requirement but he does enjoy exploring. He also has great house manners, being both housebroken and being able to be left free roam when his foster is out. Stryker is not a barker but makes noises when he wants your attention and is a smart pup who knows basic commands. Stryker loves affection and is a fan of mealtime/treats. Stryker would make a wonderful addition to a family - he just wants to find a safe place to call home for his sunset years. Meet Odin! Odin was surrendered to us due to no fault of his own. Odin is still young, so has a lot of that puppy energy left in him. He`d love to go home to a very active family with a large, fenced in yard to run around in and get that energy out. In his previous home, Odin was aggressive toward other dogs and children, so he would probably do best in a home without other dogs nor children under 13. He will also go home with a training requirement so hopefully some of those bad habits can be broken. Odin is up to date on his vaccinations and will be microchipped on his adoption day. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Applications and Adoption Rules can be found on our website, on the `HOW TO ADOPT` tab at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Upon receipt of the completed application, we will process the application including: contact with your veterinarian and completion of a home visit. I came to WCHS as a stray so my history is a bit of a mystery but one thing that is no puzzle is what a friendly gal I am. I am outgoing and tolerant but I do prefer my canine playmates to be calm and polite; I have enjoyed playgroups at the shelter and am not pleased with crazy and rambunctious dogs. Speaking of manners, I must confess that I could use some training on that front. I will greet you when you approach but have been known to jump up on folks when I say ‘hi’. I am an active girl and love to go on walks with people but tend to pull a bit on a leash, so I guess I could use some practice on that as well. I am smart and already know the cues for ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘shake/paw’. It would be lovely to take some classes with you because mental exercise is important to me too. Perhaps we could participate in obedience, rally, canine sports or nose work. I am affectionate and playful; a real lap-lover who would enjoy snuggle sessions after a day filled with fun.
